Yeah games these days too often have a lot of hand holding. Games like 9th Dawn remind me of how challenging and rewarding it can be to have to turn the ole brainbox on and figure things out. This is why I'm still a gamer and why I moved from handhelds and consoles to ios. There may be a lot of fluff to get through, but it's more than worth the trouble to find great gaming experiences like this.
I really LOVE this game but one thing makes my eyes bleed while playing, and It's the line of sight thing with half the screen covered in black constantly moving/flickering while moving the character. Please consider an option to turn this off in a future update. Thank you.
Tbh I like that, you have to be careful when moving around or enemies could be on you before you see them.
At first it drove me crazy, and I was confused when the screen went darker (before I realised there was a day/night cycle). After a while you get used to it, but sometimes it is annoying if you are right next to a tree and there is roughly a 90 degree arc of blackness. It isn't exactly very appealing to the eyes, but it creates some exciting tension, especially in the evil, dangerous, maraudous, twisted, decieving, challenging, rage-inspiring Spoiler maze dungeon near Maltyrs Castle. Take THAT Adjective Man!
I was thinking it was going to be tougher especially when the town blacksmith had some new arrow types. Looks like I'm leveling up again. Does anyone know what the lvl cap is ?
Just dropping off the latest patch notes so you guys can know what to expect in the latest version! http://valorware.com/9thdawn/patches.php#108
Ah, yes! It will be square at the least. Marmalade asked us to make a new icon with their square frame, so it will now look like:
Well it's better to be honest although I was expecting instead of the dragon that gold "map" from the original icon In any case I look forward to the update
Cool the update sounds neat! Being able to reset attributes should be a big help to all those who accidentally applied strength to mages etc etc
Looks to be a great patch! Thanks! May I make a tiny suggestion for a future patch? I would love to see an easier way to compare weapons side-by-side and manage inventory. A good reference for side-by-side weapon/armor comparison would be like Borderlands 2 which makes comparing in-inventory and store items a breeze (arrows up/down that indicate if a stat is better/worse for the two things being compared). For inventory management, filters and sortable items like what The Quest has make a good reference point. Great game...loving it so far.
i've seen locked gates at New Anvere and Chella, and juicy treasures beyond them (at least in New Anvere), but i can't find the levers anywhere... can somebody help me on this? thanks!
Nice! I'm still confused. When "hi-res GUI" is checked, the game looks sharp on my iPad 3, both zoomed and unzoomed. When I uncheck that option, everything is further zoomed in and blurry. I think you should just call it "hi-res" (it doesn't only affect the GUI) and leave it at that.
LOL just think of him as your sidekick since the tea lady's quest is optional as well you could have that other guy follow you around too. Posse! But in all seriousness, if you don't want to be an in-game pimp I suggest you talk to the tea lady, or the lumber jack, which might make him go away. Actually, I forget which NPC was who, in this message I was thinking ellerin was the first NPC you find outside the hut, but now I'm thinking he is the lumbjacks apprentice. Sorry, I have been absolutely no help whatsoever :/
Help needed please ! I do tend to just wander around the map doing quests when i find them but this time... Spoiler I've obviously got to the main quest, the entrance to the castle where the Duke outside and all his men talk about finding the key. I've got in to through the side wall, fought tons of monsters, finally got to a place where i try to open the door and it says something about blood ? Had a look on the internet and went back to one of the main towns to talk to that guy (Rene ?) who says speak to a wizard in the south west. So i then go all the wayover to see this other guy (arrrgh forget his name) and instead he just says 'you look tired, have a rest' type generic chat. No missions or choices for me to respond with. So like i say the first wizard (Rene ?) tells me to talk to the other wizard, but when i do nothing happens really. Apparently i need some 'blood' rune/key/sword ? to get through that main gate but i cant seem to trigger the mission off to find that blood item i need to get through the main gate Apologies if this has been answered before with 45 pages or so i thought i would ask instead
Spoiler go into the well at Agaria, go thruhg the short dungeon, beat the ghost in there, collect the key that the ghost dropped, open the locked door in Agaria (I think it is right of the bar), get the book, talk to Renn, progress with the quest. don't worry I was totally confused too. The object that is needed is (you should probably not read this spoiler, psj, as it is, well, a spoiler ["You don't say?"]) Spoiler the severed hand of the guy commanding the small platoon if soldiers outside the castle. Funniy enough, I scanned the walls of that castle when I first came across it for an easy way in, and totally missed the Spoiler obvious crack in the wall , so I ended up beating it the MANLY way. Sorry to all you manly folk who went the easy way, but are still moderately manly. PS. What do I do with the weird objects I come across on my journey that seem to have no use or significance? Such as the Spoiler weird voodoo doll, caster oil, the other thing that has the same sprite as the caster oil, hot stone (aren't I supposed to give that to some guy as well as the sandstone?), unvalued amulet, and I'm sure there were a few more. I can't use them (not including the necklace etc) and I can't sell them. Wat? Also, where do I find the sandstone? What do I get when I give the stones to the guy? What do I do with the above items? WHAT HAPPENS IF I BUY THE CAMEL!? Thanks.
THANKYOU ! I was having a nightmare with a certain maze (quite useful to drop objects in places so you know you've been there). Looking forward to playing this at lunchtime ! Thanks
