Well for one, you should enable floating joystick in options- that way you can actually do a swipe attack And secondly, the warrior takes skill to use, different skill that ranged units need. You have to time the attack right or the enemy will have gone last you and you will miss. Don't forget that weapons have a delay between attacks. If the delay is too much for you, you might want to try a different weapon, like the rapier.
Hey I've got a question about the archer- is the attacking just like the mages? And as my warrior, I pick up a lot of arrows- but if an archer fires an arrow, and misses the target, can you pick it up again? If I kill an enemy with an arrow, do I get the arrow back? I have been playing with the warrior, but I think I might start over with an archer.
Just bought this after reading a few pages of this thread. I'm a huge Ultima fan and love 2D Ultima games (I-V) Only played a short time, seems awesome but I have one niggle, I hate the animation when you turn around, left-right or right to left. The way its animated makes your character look as thin as a piece of paper.
He's totally 2D, like Paper Mario. On another post about aiming ... change the invert option if you haven't, it might make things easier. Either way, took a while to get used to.
Hi, my name is Tom/Ruki and I'm one of the developers of 9th Dawn. I don't usually communicate much with people as Charles is better at it than I am, but I just wanted to say hi and add a little bit of information. We've figured out a way to allow users to adjust the gamma of the screen, so this will be included in the next patch. We made this a priority because of some of the posts on here, so thank you for bringing it to our attention and I can confirm that this has been resolved and will be completely tweakable in the next patch. You can disable that feature in options, uncheck the "animate entities" box and your character will stay static, a bit more true to the ultima games
I'm not sure if this will help, but melee combat was designed to be played by holding the right stick in the direction you want to attack. It's difficult for me to explain (this is why Charles is better at this lol), but if you hold the right stick with your thumb instead of swiping, your character will attack in that direction periodically until you let go. I hope this helps
Yes any object that you can open will save all of the items you place into it permanently Sorry for the multiple posts
There is no "bank" in this game unfortunately, but you can store items in any containers you find. If you weren't aware you can scroll down in your inventory (once you have enough items) and you can carry up to around 300 separately stacked items (quantities of each item do not affect this) I'm going to sleep now, good luck with your adventures in 9th Dawn!
Now that I am several hours in I can say that this title is absolutely amazing. Great job to all involved and thank you so much for being involved in this forum as much as you guys are. This game is getting all my playtime. Love the warrior class. 5 star rating from me.
GOT IT! Thanks all for the help. I was being much too impatient using the attack button. Holding down the button then "leaning" with the button pushed was the trick. (thanks ValorwareRuki) And the advice for the floating joystick helps too. Glad I stuck with it. We all know how people give up on games giving it about 1 minute of effort. (I actually read a review complaining about the issue I was having, so it was given sort of a half-assed review.) These forums (with developers active) help a TON! Thanks all! Time to kill some Goblin!
Super cool the developers are here , I think I'm very near the end and there are like 5 towns or areas that I haven't been to. Of course maybe there is more than I think left to do, because usually you end up visiting every area before you beat the game. I tried visiting a town way up north to see if there were quests or anything of interest and I got my behind handed to me by some war bears . So I guess I need to level or that town is meant for later in the game. Anyways we shall see, probably isn't the endgame. Also sometimes a well or door comes up with a 'back' interaction icon , this has happened on silver chests too. I'm assuming that either I need a key for the doors or chests or I'm not ready to interact with the other things ie gravestones. Anyways really enjoying the game.
Question here, I died while trying to escort Elerin (sp?) now I can't seem to find him, where is he?? lol
