I agree with LBG, but I can't wait in any case as game impressions are almost as good as a gameplay video :)

Shoulda just made this Gangstar 3 if it's free roam. Disappointment at game loft.

Gangstar 3 might be like this. Maybe Gameloft's just testing the waters for now.
Plus, it's always nice to have a new IP.

Being that in Gangstar you play as a thug, and 9mm as an undercover police it couldn't be Gangstar3. There is not any information on wether it's free roam or not, but it's just speculation's and hopes.

Games don't make teens degenerates. Those teens were degenerate to begin with. I worry more about how technogical advances inspire laziness. There's an epidemic of fat kids out there, because they have so many options available to them now that there isn't much motivation for them to go outside and live active lives. The more reliant we are on technology, the more and more obese people become. Violence, on the other hand, has been around since the dawn of time. People don't need violent music, movies, or games in order to act their violent tendancies out on others. Long before any of these avenues ever existed, a certain segment of people have acted like violence, anti-social degenerates.

Did no one else find the character models absolutely terrible?

As much as I would love this to be free roam, I highly doubt it. From the trailer, you can see some of the gameplay and it seems like a level based game.

There is still a small possibility, however. But then again, you're a cop. What would you do in free roam mode?

And it's not an L.A. Noire clone. This seems straight up shooting and killing. L.A. Noire is detective based.

Anyways, we'll find out next week.

They were, but only in some places. In others they were great.

For example: here the character models look pretty good:

    And also here:

Overall I'd say the character models look better than they do in GTA: San Andreas.
Which is quite something seeing as GTA: SA is a PC game and is only 6 years old.

Sadly, I believe that you are correct. But it doesn't matter, still an insta-buy for me :)

Still looking forward to those game impressions next week though.

What was bad about them? Post the time in the video that looked bad! I thought that was excellent too. (for example at the part where I took that screenshot that is in my previous post)

I don't think Gameloft has the capabilities to make a free-roam game look like that. The game is probably constructed around set pieces. So, we're talking more like Dead II Rights then True Crime. Again though, I don't believe it's a clone either.

The protagonist does make me think of True Crime New York City, but why would anyone go in that direction anyway? True Crime never gained any traction And the franchise was cancelled. Although I really enjoy Streets of LA, as juvenile as it may be.

I have the same doubts....it would be really amazing if they managed to pull that off though!! Maybe later down the road of ios gaming.

Yes, this has a pretty good model too, though it looks like a cut-scene. Also, picture proof that you're playing as a cop, as they all have badges. Which also brings me to notice that the closest characters badge is stuck to his chest for some reason. lol.
