They consistently release things that just look like something I'd want to play. strivemind Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2010 2,784 2 38 Designer Ottawa, Canada http://www.strivemind.com/ #3 strivemind, May 31, 2011 A video would be really helpful. Like what kind of gameplay is this exactly? The description reads like Fruit Ninja, but the images look like a cross between Angry Birds and Patapon. medianotzu Well-Known Member Nov 21, 2009 3,803 9 36 #4 medianotzu, May 31, 2011 I would say yes to all of those. Probably you gesture to cut things much like in Fruit Ninja, but instead of a blade you have a bird. This is just a guess though. It's interesting that with all those influences, they chose to call this game "Rip Off." I guess this is some sort of ironic statement? FL!ppY Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2010 407 0 0 #5 FL!ppY, May 31, 2011 Those nice GFX remind me of Patapon. I'd love to play Patapon on iOS Waiting for some vids & reviews to see if i'll grab it. The graphics look like a fun hybrid of Patapon and Angry Birds and I know it is a game about protecting your eggs...but I too am way too curious as to how it actually works. I see you control a bird and take out the enemies by slicing them so, there you go, it even has a touch of Fruit Ninja! I see the bird is different in each of the screen shots and have to wonder is it the same bird using different powers or does the player get to choose a bird from the start that gives him some unique powers through the game? I also see by one of the screen shots they're using the Rooftop Escape (and Tiny Wings) like objectives to earn score multipliers, very cool! antony.thai Well-Known Member Dec 1, 2009 2,084 13 38 Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam #9 antony.thai, May 31, 2011 Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel This is the game trailer! So all of the Patapon-like enemies are trying to make off with your eggs, and you destroy them with swipe attacks. Going by graphics alone it looks like you are controlling an Angry Fruit Ninja Bird as you fight off endless waves of Patapon like baddies! While the graphics and mechanics are clearly inspired by other games, this combination is nothing but entirely original! You control a bird that is nearly invulnerable and need to send him to and fro to slash the baddies coming for your eggs (since your character just hatched himself, I guess technically they are your unborn brothers and sisters). The only control in the game is a simple tap to tell where you want your bird to go and he will race to it at lighting speed from wherever he is at the moment (no need to land first). At the same time you'll need to take into account gravity as, whenever not slashing about, your bird is falling back down to earth (not that hitting the ground is a problem for your bird). If keeping the endless waves of baddies away from the eggs wasn't enough to keep your wings full, there are the deadly bomb baddies. These are the one type of baddy you can't slash (you just need to let them pass by unmolested and, lucky for you, they have no interest in the eggs). If you bump a bomb baddy or allow all of the eggs to be taken off screen, the game is over. Add on top of all of this the game's series of Tiny Wings/Rooftop Escape like objectives constantly being dished out that will increase your base point multipliers once completed. The key to big points is, much like Fruit Ninja, to wait for the baddies to cluster in such a way so that you can take out as large a group as possible in a single slash. I love the huge variety of baddies that each come at and attempt to steal your eggs in unique ways (like mole men that just pop up right next to one of your eggs to drag it off to some flying guys that will try to suck your eggs away using some sort of tractor beam from halfway across the screen)! 5/5 strivemind Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2010 2,784 2 38 Designer Ottawa, Canada http://www.strivemind.com/ #14 strivemind, May 31, 2011 Thanks for the impressions.
