Lode Runner (the 1994 version) Warlords & Warlords II I've spent more time playing warlords than any other game, including SSB. And that's saying something.
Tempest 2000 or similar! iRobot Dungeon Siege ...oh wait, that's Microsoft. Nevermind Questron or Questron II (anyone remember -? SSI)? Archon on iPad! X-Wing Lucas Arts Clock Tower
You forgot Full Throttle and The Curse of Monkey Island. Then your list is complete. And now, more than ever, do I have faith in Square Enix to bring Final Fantasy VII to the iPhone. They pulled off Chaos Rings extremely well, so I see no reason in skipping their most well-respected game of all time. Otherwise, I hope other companies see the success that this full-fledged game has earned, and that they will imitate it and create real games instead of the last minute crap that some companies are putting out (I'm looking at you Konami... port MGS or MGS Mobile!)
Yes! Other than maybe the Resident Evil Remake, I don't think any game has ever freaked me out like that. And I don't see any reason for not being able to port the SNES one (I think it was released in America on the PSX as The First Encounter) if not the PSX one. And speaking of Resident Evil, I want an old-school RE game. None of the over-the-shoulder, laser sight stuff. I want what made the old games creepy: Lack of ammo, constant sense of being alone, the random scares that caused so much paranoia, fixed cameras, static backgrounds, etc. I think that those games are arguably more fun than Resident Evil 4/5 (well, 5 undoubtedly, but 4 puts up a good fight... idk).
I already know Lucas arts is developing the remainder of the Monkey Island series for the idevices. And I've never played full throttle.
Check it out sometime. Great point-and-click game, although it's not as humorous as the typical LucasArts adventure.
Any of the Gold Box games (early 90s) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_Box) Savage Frontier or the Dragon Lance series. They'd translate perfectly to the touch interface, and would provide hours of fun. Perhaps the world exploration sections would have to be upgraded a bit though
I actually wouldn't mind a stellar remake of Maniac Mansion tailored especially for the iDevices. Or did that come out in the 80's? I don't really know.
