Yeah, just to add to the sentiment, I'm playing on my 3GS and I wish other games that looked this good ran as good and loaded as fast. It doesn't hurt that the game is damned addictive. ;)

I loved the first one, and I have an iPhone 4S. Should I buy this on sale or shell out for the HD version?

Hey guys, thanks for the nice words & glad to hear you enjoy our game! If you're still not sure whether or not you should buy the game, this sale is a good opportunity to give it a try. The SD version does still look pretty good, too... if you got an iPhone 4S, iPad 2 or new iPad and are still uncertain about the purchase, you could just buy the SD version now for 99 Cent and if you like it, you can wait for the next sale of the HD version and than buy it, too. Due to the full save game transferability, you can even continue your SD save games in HD by simply synchronising them via iCloud or Open Feint. :)

I bought this game over a year ago and still have not played it. Maybe someday I will.

Just bought this! Have no idea what it is or anything, but with all these great reviews, and only for a buck? Shoot, why not? :p

    Yes. ;)

If you have both versions on the same device, and launch the HD version, you get the Valkyrie HD expansion for free, which usually costs $5, so you're getting a heavy discount on the expansion!

Played a little bit of Galaxy on Fire 1 and didn't particularly like it. Had low expectation for GoF2.

Started playing and I've been hooked. It is basically a portable Wing Commander / Privateer. Large worlds, fantastic graphics, and a ton of nice voice acting.

Nope, just make sure GOF2 SD and HD are installed on the same device and Valkyrie HD unlocks for free! ;)
