I didn't think of the free promotion and a backup/restore situation, so I doubt I'll go with another buy-only version because that wouldn't help this subset of people unless they happened to download the game AGAIN during ANOTHER free promo, and I'm sure some would be missed. I'll think about options over the holiday, but if you are one of the few folks who got it during the previous free promotion, you may want to keep it installed while I figure out how to solve the backup-restore situation. New downloaders shouldn't have any problem of course. @nightc1 Your feedback is helpful, thank you. I'll DEFINITELY remember this situation for my next game so I don't step in it again. I should be able to figure out a solution to this current situation as well with a little more thought.
I appreciate the speedy response. I updated my review but removed the update just now to give you the benefit of the doubt because you seem genuine. If this was just some ho-hum average game I would probably have just sucked it up, deleted and moved on. But out of the 424 players on GameCenter I'm currently 13th and I've been higher on the leaderboards before. I love the game. My youngest son has also been preferring it when he plays my iphone. Even with the bug that was introduced during the previous update that made the backspin stay on when you quit and start a new game... It's easy to live with when the game is so good. Again, I appreciate the speedy response here. I hope you figure out a solution or at least let this be a lesson learned.
First, I didn't know about the bug where backspin was staying on if you quit and started a new game. Gotta fix that one. Thanks for not putting a negative review on the game. I prefer negative reviews be brought up in forums or email so we have a chance to work it out first. I already have a lot of ideas. I'm going to implement them in development and re-release with the right solution. I'm genuine My goals are simple. Make games so people have fun. Make a little money from games so I can keep making games and have fun myself. The bottom line is that it's just about fun and games, so we'll work through the kinks and keep getting better.
