yep, same on 6S+ - latest iOS - works like a charm on iPad though - just my phone that has a small but noticeable delay before you can move after each move. Great update though. Would love a helix update too, mind. Please.
Bought the DLC, and this game just clicked in my head. I just made it through an eight board set with I think 17 points. Just don't be greedy guys. Don't siphon boxes right away. Siphon resources from ground tiles, so when you start getting abilities from the blocks you can use them liberally. Awesome little game.
So I've got into the top 4 scores without knowing half of the expansion changes. Does anyone know what .SAVE does? Or how .SORT picks which programs to eliminate? I'm also not sure whether I've run into all the new power ups.
Hope this isn't too hard for me. It's been heavy on my radar since it came out so I'm diving in now. Just worried it's going to require too much thinking - I'm not a strategy guy...
Honestly, I hate rts, rogue-likes and other strokey beard stuff but please stick with this and you'll never look back. It takes a wee while though, AKD, but I honestly think it's in my top 2 games of all time - including the future.
You know, after I posted that this morning, I got reading this thread more and immediately thought, "I know this will be extremely well-made, but too deep for my taste". Thanks for the push, brother.
Thanks man! *does a cheeky little dance* After playing about 13 games I'm getting the hang of it and really love it! The hype is justified. I should have known better as Helix is one of the most unique arcade games I've ever played. The UI in 868-HACK coudn't be more streamlined. Great tutorial (played it twice). Such a solid game I grabbed the 'PLAN.B' expansion as well. I'm learning the enemy movements which is making for some really fun little battles. The combat is approachable too - no time limit on your next move - love the 'siphon' mechanic to gather abilities, cash, and energy for using abilities. Not sure if this is endless but for now I'm going to try to beat your score, Slam
ha - xjaff is top of my boards too. I've just discovered there's a secret mode. Haven't found it myself but have a feeling it might happen if you finish 8 sectors in under a certain time - speed run style. May be wrong. I'm back on classic unlocking progs again. What a game!!
So why are some progs locked? To make the game easier? Why wouldn't I just unlock all of them and play the RNG?
some people (like me) like to unlock stuff slowly. Life's too short to experience everything all at once.
Thank you Michael Brough for updating this amazing game so that it will continue into the iOS 64-bit era. Also, the plan.b expansion is a fantastic surprise. It's more challenging as well! AKD - glad you have jumped in! You and I seem to have similar taste in video games and I typically go for the more arcade/action style. But this game is something special, definitely in my all-time favourite list (along with Imbroglio and Helix). I keep coming back to it and don't expect that I will ever tire of it. Slamraman - you still are ahead of me on the plan.b leaderboards! I am suspecting that both you and AKD will overtake me on all leaderboards soon enough. I did manage to figure out that secret room though, it helps with score. There are much higher scores than mine, lots still to learn in this.
Actually I think I did see an option to unlock all progs if you want to. But I think in this game it is ideal to start with a small number of progs and slowly unlock them as you go, I recall they seemed to unlock at a nice pace and the progression allowed me to spend a little time with each new prog to learn and understand its benefits. I think I would have struggled more if everything had been unlocked from the start - too much info all at once. It's critical to understand all of the progs so you can make wise decisions as you play. Just my opinion though.
