Yess finally .. I bought this game on release day , and it has been on and off my phone many times , because i wanted to like it but just could not understand the various mechanisms. Then last week there was an article on TA and i got Some useful tips in the comments, so i decided to try it again with à fresh look and the tips that were given. And boom ... It clicked ! Have not been able to put it down since! Once it clicks this game is absolutely great and very addictive.
I hear you! Really have only made it through a couple of runs myself, rarely in a row and definitely not in any sort of serious attempt at a high score. I love the game's scoring being based solely on how far you're willing to push things, i.e suck down programs that serve no purpose on your run other than to make your life more difficult.
Hehe. I just started playing for score a couple days ago... It's added another level or two of depth, and now that I've got everything unlocked, I think things are getting upgraded? Is that correct?
You mean the baddies? Yeah, they get nastier as you move on in multiple wins in a streak (or is this not what you were asking?).
Did you see that 868-HACK is one of Terry Cavanagh's favourite iOS games, featured on the App Store now? Nasty URL, but here's a link to the feature: https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewMultiRoom?cc=ca&fcId=833686792&id=836829183&mt=8
Saw that it was on sale and I went to get it only to realize I must have bought it back when it came out. I think I bought it and wasn't sure how the mechanics worked but damn after spending a bit of time to learn it this is definitely one of top favorite iOS games and it'll never leave my device. Not only is this a great choice when you have a few minutes to kill bit if you are bored you can sit down and let the time just fly on by. And it is so easy to just turn on and resume, you don't struggle with getting back into the game if you take a break mid session. If you are considering getting it hesitate no longer, you won't regret the purchase.
I originally didn't quite get this game in its fullest form which led me to frp it after playing a few times. I have since watched a few youtubes on how to play and...man has it opened up the game for me. I don't recall if everything was explained to its fullest in the tutorial. And picking up how everything works isn't completely intuitive just by playing. Watching a YouTube such as below really showed me the dynamics of this game. For starters I didn't make the connection that when you siphon squares, you siphon the resources in the surrounding squares, not just the program next to you...dah!!! I'd definitely recommend watching some tubies to get a better understanding. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efj_m1RLM3A
LOL... This is why i never update firmware as soon as it hits. You have to let the apps catch up and ready up first before you do... Especially the ones you are currently using.
It seems to work fine for me but did reset my scores and program unlocks...although if you already had unlocked everything you can just hit the "unlock all" button and be right back where you were.
iPhone 5. The game went back to first start. It made the old modem handshake noises then stuttered repeatedly. The screen was blank and in the end I quit. Each time I restarted it did the same thing. So I tried rebooting the device no change. In the end I deleted it and reinstalled. Same issue still there. Michael Brough, any ideas?
I've submitted an update that fixes the losing-savefile problem and I think fixes the blank screen problem, it should hopefully be approved in a day or two. Let me know if there are still any problems after that!
Thank you Michael, I'll let you know. I have it on my iPad as well but the game started from scratch. However I didn't delete and reinstall this version. It's a shame to lose leaderboards but let's see how it works.
