It's not that ambitious, I'm sure it can be done. Will post impressions in a little bit. I wish you guys could port Strife. (y'know, as it doesnt seem like it will ever appear..) (presumably that is why you are having to fight Apple..) Gennadiy Potapov Well-Known Member Jul 24, 2010 112 0 0 General Arcade http://www.generalarcade.com/ #10 Gennadiy Potapov, Jan 30, 2011 Yes, doom2.wad working very well with Doomsday II (you can try, if your device jeilbroken). But the problem is that wad can contain .deh files - scripts and apple rejects apps that can be extended with dynamic code. fusermarucs Well-Known Member Sep 29, 2010 78 0 0 #11 fusermarucs, Jan 30, 2011 Oh well - good job we've got doomsday II then to keep the Doom bugs at bay! Rangerlump Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2010 482 23 18 #12 Rangerlump, Jan 30, 2011 I will definitely get this. I absolutely loved the rest of General Arcade's doom games. The only issue before was the save feature bug and the has been fixed for a while now. I spend more time on the games than all the doodle/chop/fruit/zombie trends that come and go.... CJH Well-Known Member Sep 29, 2009 63 0 0 #13 CJH, Jan 30, 2011 You guys just got a purchase out of me! If it ends up getting external WAD support, even better! If not, no harm done, another 32 Doom levels for 99 cents is an excellent deal! Duke Floss Well-Known Member Mar 12, 2010 890 0 0 Writer - Producer - Engineer English Roundabout http://www.heavyjack.com #14 Duke Floss, Jan 30, 2011 cool - hopefully you can find out who owns the IP. I've read it might be Take-Two that owns it, but Rogue Entertainment does still seem to be around - http://www.rogue-ent.com/ I would love if you guys were able to bring Strife to the iPhone. Doomsday 2 Impressions I played late into the night, died more times than I care to admit as the levels are extensive and challenging. Well worth the purchase and definitely will be a mainstay on my iPod along with Doom Classic, Doomsday, and Hacx. There's some getting use to the Ipod touch control scheme but the developers obvious gave a lot of attention to this issue to endless control customization options suggesting the best possible effort. The mechanics and levels designs have a lot of polish and attention to detail. The gameplay is spot on if you're looking to dodge impish fireballs and shotgun blast netherworld scum retro-Doom style. Playing through the first level it seems there are a lot of enemies roaming around. The difficulty (even on the bast 2/4 setting) seems harder, which I enjoy but it might not be for everyone [there is an easier setting]. Highly recommended; a steal for $0.99. ipodjunkie Well-Known Member May 20, 2010 144 0 0 #18 ipodjunkie, Jan 31, 2011 just bought it. I have a question about the difficulty settings. Are they correct? As long as i remember in the original doom, higher difficulty means more enemies, (something I miss in the fps games now) but I dont see the difference. I played the first level on all 4 settings and the enemies was the same. Do I miss something? ipodjunkie Well-Known Member May 20, 2010 144 0 0 #19 ipodjunkie, Jan 31, 2011 is it possible in the next update to tweak something with the sound effects? They dont work properly, sound comes delayed or not at all when i shoot or wenn enemy dies. Also maybe not bad idea to swap the first level with the second or another easier one, cause its too hard and not beginner friendly CJH Well-Known Member Sep 29, 2009 63 0 0 #20 CJH, Jan 31, 2011 I have a question for the developers. How hard would it be to put in online multiplayer? I remember John Carmack saying that the latency over 3G would be inadequate for multiplayer, but what about over wifi? Unfortunately I don't know anyone else locally with Doom or Doomsday or Doomsday 2, but I'd love to take the multiplayer for a spin. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
