I've seen this forum and other 80 Days threads but all the "spoilers", hints, and Easter eggs seem to be scattered all over the place. I'm not sure it will work, but I've started this wikia based on 80 Days. I hope that it will be successful in the very future Link to 80 Days Wikia: http://80-days-inkle.wikia.com/wiki/80_Days_Wiki
@Johnatthebar I had been following you hint advice previously, and was sure I'd worked it out. Then funnily enough I have it another go and was going to use the trick of exiting but I didn't need to and solved it first go. It seems there was one vital choice I was getting wrong every time! Thanks
@johnatthebar: More clues about the usage of Alexandria's projector Spoiler If you met Helene in Cairo and go with her to Luxor, you can use the projector in the hotel to find out how she was kidnapped and give you clue to chase them to Manama. Then you can use the projector again on the plane to find where she's being hidden in Osiris Line and after creating diversion, to help her escape @Inkle Thanks a lot for the clue. So far, I could only found the following: brilliant slick stylish smooth chivalrous foppish dilletante superior courageous suave polished manicured gallant unpredictable bright zestful well-heeled presentable mannered dauntless reckless dab-handed dependable organised steadfast old-fashioned addled foolhardy skillful sharp astute shabby untidy slovenly slipshod knavish shrewd cunning careless loose dishevelled slapdash crafty slippery scrappy ramshackle grubby unkempt calamitious I might be mistaken, but it seems sometimes depending on the personalities, it might open up an extra option during conversation?
@johnatthebar destinations of teleporter: Spoiler Omsk, Bhayi, Calcutta, Lahore. It seems some characters no longer appear after we completed the trips for more times. For example Spoiler Paris artificer who created driver automaton in Izmir, Herr Danzer in Vienna, Ponytail Man in San Francisco, Some transportation routes only opened up after completing the trips more times, e.g. Orient express to Venice, Bucharest and Istanbul, Yokohama hoovercraft to Hawaii.
First of all, I want to say a very big THANK YOU to user V911. I'm somewhat in awe of your ability to figure out so many of the "hard to get" story lines. I'm currently working through the Find Love in London story line thanks to you. That being said I'm stuck in Brisbane where I've been obsessed with trying to save the submariners life. I'm convinced (without real evidence) that you have to convince the maid in the hotel to let you take her letter to the newspaper office for her (I used to think that maybe you could get her to tell you about a bone setter she knows, but that seems less likely to me now). I've been using the "exit out of the app to restart the most recent part of the story" trick for quite some time, as I figured it out on my own a while ago (and it has kept me sane enough to not totally give up on the game). It has allowed me to play through the conversation with the maid many many times. So many times without luck, in fact, that I'm beginning to think that either you need to set up something (have a conversation with someone else, bring an item from somewhere, etc) prior to meeting the maid or use some variation of the conversation with her to set up an encounter with her the next day that normally doesn't happen. Or maybe saving the submariners life has nothing to do with the maid at all! I'd be happy to hear hints or spoilers about this if anyone has any. You guys are the best! tl;dr If you have any hints or spoilers about how to save the submariner's life in Brisbane, please post them! Thanks in advance! P.S. I finally got the Find Love in London ending (thank you!) ...now, am I the only one who finds it anticlimactic? She is so in love with him that she goes to all the effort of tracking him down after seeing his picture in the paper... And he just gasps her name, she briefly explains how she found him, and then we get no other reaction from Passepartout or Goland. No heartfelt embrace or any other indication that this is two people in love with each other, not a hint of romance or mutual feeling. For an ending that is so hard to get (not to mention it's being called the "Find Love in London" ending), talk about disappointing. They should have made it bigger and more romantic.
Just downloaded as part of the bundle and I was teleported it seems. My master is gone and I have no money. is this the end for me? Sorry for boob question first time playing this type of game and I'm so lost.
@Drucifer Since your post was yesterday, you've no doubt discovered by now that if you just keep at it (I don't remember exactly what you have to do, but I went through that storyline myself a while ago, so I know) you will be reunited with Fogg in another city.
Appreciate the response. Sadly I have no cash, I have no way to get to a new location as I was for some reason left with 0£. Also where in at there appears to be no bank so I can't even withdrawal any.
You could try staying in a hotel for a few days. A couple of times I've had a way forward open up by doing that.
There are minor variations. Within each ending there are some dialogue choices of course. Also depending on your character Fogg will say slightly different things to you at the very end. And there is the Lucky in Love ending which is hard to get.
Yeah I think it just so happened all my cash got removed and I happened to be at a location with no bank so I have no way to go elsewhere to try and progress the story. I've slept like 30 days and nothing. I guess I'll start again.
When I got stuck separated from Fogg the game let me travel free - I can't remember if I was a stowaway or what, but I was able to get to a new location and meet up with Fogg.
Maybe there was a glitch or something. I couldn't go anywhere just spent 30 or more nights sleeping in the streets. Reset my profile and playibg again. What a great game.
Pretty much just the one ending for each, but there are minor variations on each ending (Fogg says different things, for instance). It's the journey that matters, not the destination
Leaderboards, speed runs, and Argentina God what a fantastic game. I have three questions: 1) to the people at Inkle: are the scores on the leaderboards real or cheated? the fastest time on the leaderboard is 20 days, and people report finishing balances in the millions of pounds, both of which seem totally impossible to me 2) has anybody on this forum gotten round the world in less than 39 days, and if so do you have any tips? there is one 39-day run on this forum which the person kindly posted a link to, but pulling it off seems to depend on getting lucky with money along the way 3) has anybody on this forum reached Buenos Aires, Asuncion, Rio de Janero, or Salvador? I've been through South America a few times and can never seem to get further south than Lima, from which I seem only to be able to travel on to Tabatinga or Bogota
