between now and the end of the year i would like to purchase a new ipod touch, because i cant play the new games on my ipod touch 2g (i am aware apple will most likely introduce a new ipod but chances are it will be a littlle leap or a big one) anyway im a heavy gamer and would really like to play games like, order and chaos, infinity blade, modern combat ,(big , quality games) im just wondering with some games nearly hitting 1000mb, is 8g really enough with these new apps?
Hell no, it's not enough. 32GB isn't even enough. Most likely getting a 64GB once the 5th generation hits. With 37 games over 500 MB on my iTunes, 2/5 of my games over 100 MB, and having spent over $1,700 since January 2009 on the AppStore, once again, hell no. Soon enough, possibly with the introduction of the 6th generation, 8GB devices will be obsolete and cease to exist just as the iPad's smallest size is the 16GB.
I don't think 64gb is enough either I bought it expecting never to use it and now I struggle for space like everyone else. Quite a few games clock up about a 1gb once installed and with music, videos, books and other app data it all adds up really fast.
32 definitely isn't enough. Apps are getting bigger and bigger file sizes, and I'm having a tough time deciding what to delete when a new app comes out
This, always. I have a freaking iPod Nano because I don't have room for music on my 32GB. I delete games weekly to make room for the new releases. I think 64GB should be sufficient for me though since I don't watch videos on my iPod.
I used to do that but then I started listening to internet radio a lot more and cut down on the amount of music on my iPhone. That's not really an option for an iPod Touch but then again nether is 64GB for an iPhone.
I had a 8 gig 2nd Gen and was ok back when the file sizes weren't so big but knowing they were getting larger was a deciding factor on the 64 gig and it's quite sufficient for my needs at this time. It's actually three quarters full but I can delete a few games collecting dust. I would advise to get a 64 gig if a h/c gamer if possible as you'd soon be frustrated with the 8 gig if you went that route.
I'd say 32 Gb is fine(thats what I'm getting on my upgrade) I mean truthfully to you play ALL of the games on you ipod? I've had a 16 GB 2nd gen for 2 years and I'm never tight on space. I buy apps frequently and if you keep every gameloft game on your itouch or iphone just get the 64 GB
I currently have an 8 GB iPod Touch 2G also (more like 6 GB if you count the ACTUAL space I have) and obviously I have to delete games quite often, but I manage. But just think, 4x that space is a 32 GB. Wouldn't you think that's plenty? Unless you're dling a bunch of movies, I don't know how you could fill up that space unless you can't delete apps or spend $100's of dollars per month. I'd just recommend the 32 GB. Whenever I get a new one, it'll be an iPod Touch 5G 32 GB
8gb is definitely not enough. All my music are Apple Lossless plus the apps are just way to big. Im definitely going to upgrade to a 32gb 5g ipod touch sooner or later.
I have a 16GB iPhone and I don't think that's enough. I can only choose some of my music to put on there and it's annoying when I need that one song but it's not there since there's no more space. I think a 64GB would be perfect for me. My music library is about 40GB so 20GB for apps/movies and stuff would be pretty great.
I know the topic creator asked about high-content titles, but personally I find my 16GB to be more than enough. I must say otoh that I'm not that fond of mainstream games by the likes of EA and Gameloft. If a game happens to take more space than reasonable for its type, it needs to be a damn enjoyable experience, else it'll get the boot at my next sorting to clear out the weakest links. I'm actually satisfied of its size, for it forces me to discipline myself by keeping an eye on my library. I find myself taking on a critical position towards each one, asking if they are really worth their (conceptual) weight. I get to play a bigger variety of titles simply to form a substantial opinion on them coming the next qualification session. By exercising this mentality, you comes to realize how many titles use weak "addicting" play patterns that pressure the player to advance without any deep reward.
I've only used up 12 GB after having my touch 2g for two and a half years. Well, just counting apps (I have 3 GB of music xD). I'm upgrading to 5g 32GB, because the 4g 32GB was the SAME EXACT PRICE that I got my 16GB touch 2g for.
None of that matters when price isn't a factor to the consumer. Lol. If they made an 128 GB model of the 5th generation iPod, I'd get it.
Backtothis, I'm pretty sure you're in a different situation compared to most of us xD I don't think I'm ever going to reach the $1,000 mark on my purchases .__.
Sure, but that isn't often the case, especially nowadays. Most of us are on a tight budget. In the US for example, there is a 100$ difference between the lower-end iPad 2 and its 32GB cousin. A lot of folks are stopping and wondering if the extra 16GB is worth +1/5 the price of the original. EDIT: 1000$ purchases? Is that sorely in app store apps? If so, that's a whole damn lot!
