It would not work until it was compiled. there was no free version, that "free" version was the source code that people thought was the "free" version. It would not work until it was compiled. Unless someone had a developers account, it couldn't be done, and if someone did compile it, apple might not view that too well. it could not be simply played on a JB'ed idevice.
