You can also use iDOS for non-gaming purposes, such as word processing, casual programming. Apps in the DOS days are often simpler and surprisingly productive. KEYBOARD iDOS provides a PC compatible on-screen keyboard with carefully designed layouts for different devices and orientations. The keyboard has a sliding control in landscape mode so that you can keep it from covering critical part of the screen. Bluetooth keyboard is fully supported on iOS 14+. GAMEPAD iDOS provides a virtual gamepad with key bindings that are fairly common in DOS games. You can customize the bindings. The DPAD works in 8-axis way. It can also be toggled into a joystick. External bluetooth game controllers are supported. Make sure your game controller is connected (System Settings->Bluetooth). To customize button bindings, go to iDOS in landscape mode, tap on bluetooth icon on the auto-hiding top bar. MOUSE The screen area serves as a trackpad for moving mouse pointer. Tap on the screen for left click. If direct touch is enabled, the mouse pointer will move to where you tap. Hold one finger on the screen, and tap with another finger for right click. On-screen mouse buttons are also provided for your convenience. Bluetooth mouse are fully supported on iOS 14+. It would be great to be able to define the keys you would like to see, like shift and enter for a pinball game, wasd for other games etc. SurgE Well-Known Member Jan 10, 2009 56 0 0 Singapore http://xp.sg #4 SurgE, Oct 26, 2010 Bought it! I hope you won't regret it Baalim Well-Known Member May 8, 2010 97 0 0 #6 Baalim, Oct 26, 2010 A truely pleasing reply but isn't it going to be a problem with Apple ? stutz Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2009 163 0 0 #7 stutz, Oct 26, 2010 Wow. I can't believe this was approved. I bet it will be gone by the morning litchie Well-Known Member May 19, 2010 109 15 18 Male Developer https://litchie.com #8 litchie, Oct 26, 2010 Then we have to go with IAP that is the worst thing we never want to see. Oliver Well-Known Member Sep 2, 2008 949 4 0 Berlin/Germany http://www.taptoplay.de #9 Oliver, Oct 26, 2010 Hm. Bought it. Still have a bunch of old games here, like Cannon Fodder, Psycho Pinball (yeah!), Lemmings, Stunt Car Racer and Dune 2. Some of these wont work without mouse support, but Ill see. Does iTunes file sharing support directories or just single files? Micro Machines, Nascar Racing and Psycho Pinball come with a bunch of subfolders. Can I zip them, put unzip and the zip file via iTunes on the iPad and will the unzipped files be kept inside iDOS? litchie Well-Known Member May 19, 2010 109 15 18 Male Developer https://litchie.com #10 litchie, Oct 26, 2010 iTunes file sharing support directories. And iDOS has a built-in UNZIP command too. Menneisyys Well-Known Member Dec 12, 2008 1,594 0 36 #11 Menneisyys, Oct 26, 2010 Wowz! Wondering how it could be let into the AppStore... nevertheless, off to test it with my old Legend Entertainment and Magnetic Scrolls titles dyscode Well-Known Member Apr 11, 2010 1,102 0 36 Living World #12 dyscode, Oct 26, 2010 So this is something like DosBox for the iTouches? It's just GREAT to be able to play these old classics on my iDevices - again. Mouse works. Psycho Pinball crashes (dos4gw error). Zone66 works, but is a bit slow. Pinball Fantasies works perfectly. Cannon Fodder 2 works a little bit sluggish. Mouse pointer movement and mouse buttons make this unplayable. So far for my testing Menneisyys Well-Known Member Dec 12, 2008 1,594 0 36 #15 Menneisyys, Oct 26, 2010 It seems to be great. Will be testing Adlib / MT32 support. I hope at least the former is supported - unlike under Windows Mobile & PocketDOS. Somewhere #20 Somerandomdude, Oct 26, 2010 I'm kinda tempted to pick it up since there aren't any good jailbreak DOS emulators. Is worth it? (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
