hey everyone... so i have this thing that is bothering me. i got an iphone in december 08 and my little brother got an ipod touch in april 09. i have spent $242 dollars on apps and my brother about $150. most were from itunes credit. we both like the same kind of games and often we buy the same games. but today, we found out about home sharing and now we know we can buy only one game and play it on multiple idevices. so we transfered a few of out games that we had not bought yet (but wanted) to each others idevices, but realized that we had wasted a ton of money buying the same games in the past. a total of approximately $70 of the same games. so my question is: how do you write to apple for refunds? if i ended up asking for a refund, do you think apple would pay us back $70 or say "tough luck"? i could make the argument that we didnt know about home sharing and how we felt exploited for not knowing about this feature. idk. but it's $70 we are talking about here! thanks for your help!
well if you were on the same account that shouldnt have happened. When you were installing a new game that your brother had already downloadexd it should have said "This item has already been purchased. Would you like to re-download it?" and if this happened +30 days ago, you got a good shot that they wont refund you
no we are on different accounts. we get a lot of itunes credit from holidays cuz we have a large family. but he spends more on stupid games than i do so we have different accounts so he doesnt spend my credit and i dont spend his.
well, sorry to be mean and all but i think you guys shoulda known... apple arent really gonna give you a refund for something you shoulda known!
Apple gave me a refund for a game that was only compatible for iPhone and not iPod Touch. Then again, it was only $0.99.
Yeah, but there's a difference between "doesn't work altough it should' and "i want to return this because i learned that i could use my brother's for free"... Asking for a refund is ridiculous...
even if you were on the same account, apple wouldnt give a refund to every app you bought. there's a limit on the refunds you get and if its been a while since your purchases, you probably wouldn't get any money back.
What??? You asked a refund for 99 cents? I wouldn't even write an email for 99 cents. Well, maybe I would, but I wouldn't use more than 6 words.
No way. You should have known that you can share the same app on different devices. Apple is not going to give you a cent.
Support is going to laugh at you if you call and ask for a refund. No way that is happening. It's on you as a consumer to learn how this stuff works and Apple owes you nothing for not doing your homework before you spent that money.
there is probably a 1% chance that they will refund it, but it never hurts to try, becuase they might even give you back a small portion of the amount you spent.
