Hey guys, Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm working on a new RPG called 7 Souls. I'm focusing a lot more on story and writing this time around - the game is still early in development but I just wanted to give a heads up for anyone who might be interested. Update: New screenshots! I'm always open to any kind of feedback - I'll be posting big updates here as the game gets closer to release. I also post regular updates on twitter in case anyone is interested in following the development more closely!
This sounds like something I'd want. A decent mobile JRPG that's not just a Square port? Sweet. On a side note, is this your first iOS game? Because I couldn't find anything else you've made.
Always interested in new RPGs. Hope it won't be too classical, though. E.g. having an automap and good controls is always nice. The screenshot at least doesn't look like ugly pixelstuff
I'm the opposite. Make it retro and more like the old classics. No 'cute' japanese style graphics please 'Ugly' pixel stuff is very very popular on iOS. Listen to the majority not the minority
The roaming art is very reminiscent of Titan Souls (Steam). Also, you're behind Wordsmith? Neat. Very neat.
Also, I think the graphics have a nice feel to them, sort of like what games like Chrono Trigger would look like with a graphical remake.
I suppose there's always a chance, but I'm thinking it's going to be a JRPG similar to their 7 Stories game.
Thanks for the feedback guys As far as the graphics go - the art style is one thing that's not likely to change very much at this point. The game is a turn based RPG (sort of like Final Fantasy) so that should help give an idea of the gameplay. It's a much more robust and polished successor to my previous RPG 7 Stories. Glad to hear people here recognize WordSmith haha - it's been a very under the radar release so it's good to know that people are enjoying it.
Yeah, I love Wordsmith. This sounds great, and I realized yesterday that it must have some relation to 7 Stories. I've never played it. Do you think I should be fore I play this one?
