Also by the looks of that video it has come a long way since I last saw it. I can see the graphics look a little childish but I am going to assume that the game play will override that. Definitely waiting for impressions. I really love Totemo so look forward to what this might bring! soup Well-Known Member Feb 5, 2009 2,513 0 36 #4 soup, Jul 1, 2010 is it out ? price ? why no app info ? does look as though it could be interesting...although the video does a great job of explaining nothing whatsoever jwei44 Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2009 448 0 0 High School Graduating California #5 jwei44, Jul 1, 2010 It's out. Played throught the tutorial and the first two boards of the story mode. The game is similar to Hive and Hanto -- you strategically place tiles on a board and try to dominate your opponent. You take turns placing one tile at a time. The tiles are in the form of animals each with health points (green numbers) and attack points (yellow numbers). Each animal type have a special ability -- eg leopards always attack first, bears have +1 attack when wounded...etc. If you tap on the tile anytime during the game you can see what the animal's ability is. Tiles also have attack sides (indicated by the little triangles), such that if you place a tile on the attack side of an already place tile, the defender attacks you first. If you succeed in defeating an animal, the tile changes to that of your color and vice versa. Once the whole board is filled, the game ends and the side with most of its colors on the board wins. Recommend that you play through the tutorial and at the end there is a free board to try everything out before. It isn't a game that you can carelessly place tiles about and win through luck. This game requires lots of thought to beat each board, even early in the story game. Looks deceivingly like a child's game -- it's not. ataloss Well-Known Member Mar 19, 2009 1,569 0 0 英國劍橋 #7 ataloss, Jul 2, 2010 Hexage always seem to bring something a little more special to the table, this being no exception. Very tempted, but hoping more impressions will come before I give in to the inevitable... It's not that not every game has to look the same. I'm so incredibly tempted to just buy this. Only hesitant as I've never played hex tile games before. djflippy Well-Known Member Mar 9, 2009 4,441 0 36 #10 djflippy, Jul 2, 2010 Last edited: Jul 2, 2010 I'm enjoying this so far. Anyone familiar with the strategy board games Neuroshima Hex! or Witchcraft will be familiar with the game mechanics. Each tile can attack only adjacent hexes into which one of their arrows is pointing, so it is all about positioning your animals so that your arrows point at opposing animals, without them pointing back at you. Hit points and attack values are a factor, but what really adds interest is that each animal has a special ability. Beating an opposing creature turns him to your color. The artwork is great too. venasque Well-Known Member Jan 1, 2010 142 0 16 #11 venasque, Jul 2, 2010 I decided to give it a chance and so far I'm liking it. The whole idea of hex games are new to me so I'm still getting used to it, but there is a lot of help within the game to guide you (in addition to the tutorial there is a manual with basic and advanced information). I like the art and while the graphics are simple that isn't to suggest they are bad or basic. They are clean and crisp with good use of colours and art style. So far the only thing I really want in an update is fast swapping. I had to answer a couple texts during the tutorial and had to start it over again. I haven't exited DURING a game to know if you lose your progress or not, but I'm hoping it's at least like Sword and Poker in that regard (I love how I can leave that game in the middle of a floor or a match and it will remember). Good job devs. I like stumbling upon surprises like this. cranker Well-Known Member Jul 28, 2009 3,166 0 0 Montreal #12 cranker, Jul 2, 2010 I wonder if there will be an ipad version. Simple in execution, stunning in delivery - I really like the strategy elements that are built in and I think Hexage is quickly becoming one of my favourite developers. Thank you! I have a couple of suggestions, one hopefully easy, while the other is rather more of a dream. I'd love an option for a random board, with random enemies. Although admittedly, I've not yet finished the game so perhaps this becomes available? And, well, the second would be local Wi-Fi and internet play. Or even a challenge mode of some kind? Whether these are possible and viable updates or not, I still think this is one of the much better purchases I've made this year. iDRevolution Well-Known Member Jun 4, 2010 483 0 0 Canada #20 iDRevolution, Jul 9, 2010 got J64KLEALKNRN thanks (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
