Not sure how many stages there are, but maybe provide an option to start at Novice (Wave 1), Veteran (Wave 11) or Expert (Wave 21)? Seems to have several different inspirations in it - the base gameplay is like Space Invaders (although I wasn't expecting tilt controls!), powerups drop like Arkanoid (some, like the barrier, don't really last long enough to be useful) and enemies break out of formation like in Galaga (maybe give a score bonus for destroying the bugs when they're diving?).
