I'm more curious if it fixes the high memory footprint of the OS itself. About to download it too. Edit: Apparently it's meant to fix the battery and an outgoing call issue - yay.
It's available as per usual and via the wire-free way. I'm updating mine through my iPhone rather than the PC, and so far it's gone well. Probably not that many people know about it yet - upgrading to 5.0 was a nightmare. Edit: My download was about 177Mb, but I'm not quite sure if that was the whole or just the part I saw.
Yup! I just checked and it's there. I wish Apple had a notification for software updates. Or do they!? Ugh! I really can't spare 177mb. What to do? What to do?
Just got it on my iphone 4 and my 16 GB now has 13.75GBs! Awesome thats like a 400 mb increase! ALso Iphone 4S users you'll see that instead of 3g you no have 4G connection!
Downloaded, I'll let you all know about the battery... On the bright side I have the camera on my lockscreen
You need at least 1Gb free to do the PC-free update anyway. Simple enough for me, I just deleted Mass Effect without a second thought.
Yep, they do have notif alerts for software updates. But you can't expect them to ask all those millions of idevices to get the software updated simultaneously. That will kill their servers. If you dont install the update manually, you should be getting an alert for the update in the next couple of days or so.
Yeah, I just couldn't remember if I got one for 5.0.1 or not. I'm guessing I did. Plus, I just don't have enough space for it at all. Buying an 8GB iPod thinking the 5 was coming was the worst mistake I ever made. Let me know if it fixes the battery bug.
Yes, as that is the only current iPhone model to support HSPA+ on AT&T network. AT&T claims that the iPhone 4S can reach the 4G speeds of 14.4 Mbps downlonk capabilities.
I hope it fixes the issues where if you get itunes match then turn it off it still shows dummy duplicates of some songs in the cloud. Have had to stick to the playlists in my music for a month now. Anyone know of a fix? Long email chain with two apple customer support people and got to the conclusion I had to completely reset my iphone with no restore from backup. Been hoping it is fixed in this update.
Don't think there are any real benefits for a 3rd gen iPod but I did it anyway just hoping there are some bug fixes in there. Everything seems well so far.
It hasn't fixed the Google search glitch in Safari. The one where you search something with Google in there, and the second time you try to search with it, it won't work unless you quit the app and restart it. Then it repeats that.
The update for my iPhone 4 requires 1 GB of free space to install. Darn. I guess I need to do some house cleaning.... Alright, deleted Sonic & Sega Racing (which I hadn't really played on iPhone, just iPad) and that cleared up enough room. I'm installing away.... Finished that and then updated my iPad 2 as well. So far so good.
