https://apps.apple.com/us/app/emu64-xl/id6483251916?l=en-GB Also accepts loading disks now but it is kind of a hassle
“Kind of hassle” is an understatement! Polar opposite of Delta, extremely user unfriendly but I guess that’s how things were. Never had a C64, but this seems great at emulating the frustration of using a vintage home computer, including waiting several minutes for disks to load. All very interesting though and managed to get something running eventually. Looks like this on iPad:-
Okay, well, the EMU64 is not so bad once familiar with entering text commands - it's a whole new world. Hit a snag with Ultima games which were on multiple disks - doesn’t seem possible to load them separately. However, some helpful people in cyberspace have formatted them onto single disks while remastering the graphics, so now Ultima III Gold is running: Except I’ve no idea how the game works, which again is all text commands. Fortunately the original manuals have been digitised, looks like I have a lot of reading. It’s like doing digital archeology.
The release of Delta has opened the floodgates for discussions about retro gaming, emulators, and related subjects. To keep the Delta thread on topic, I’m moving posts about other emulators, retro games, etc. here. Please remember that specific talk about ROMs or BIOS (especially where to download them) is not permitted. That includes links, names of sites, and other direct information. We don’t want to get TA into trouble!
I did message the dev of Spectaculator about adding games to it but I haven’t heard back yet before Apple shut down file access on iTunes or iexplorer I added lots of games manually to Spectaculator. Love that want a new emulator ! Thought we might have had loads more by now

If Provenance came out then i'll; be happy as hell as that covers Atari/Genesis so what with all the others on Delta i'll be happy ! Hopefully we'll get another emulator soon Saying that MAME is the big one ! Would LOVE that
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/emu2600-xl/id6499568732?l=en-GB Saw this Atari 2600 one but have not tried it yet, from the same dev as the c64 one so probably not that great.
Nice find bit of a faff running games bit it’s okay for now. Pac-Man worked but no sound. Space invaders worked with sound. Shame I can’t get rid of the advert. like I say it’s fine until Provenance one day appears
Gamma emulator seems good (Parasite Eve runs well), but it seems to crash with a Backbone controller. I emailed the dev — will report if/when I hear back. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gamma-game-emulator/id6499106870
xGBA https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/xgba-game-emulator/id6498951014 Nice gameboy emulator. Kinda shows the original cartridges for the game listing. Usual. Gameboy emulator not needed due to delta but plays well as a gameboy portrait handheld mode
iFBAs https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/ifbas-arcade-emulator/id1491920707 Found this. Final burn. Downloaded it. Lots of Japanese unfortunately but imported all my roms and many are listed to play. Played a few games and works well. Worked out the icons for coin and start. Use the red icon to leave a game added all my mame games and a fair few are listed to work for me it’s a good app until a proper MAME app appears Edit - the games are listed in a weird order, not always alphabetical but it has the title also in english. Tried a few: Gauntlet, P-47 Aces, Bubble Bobble Symphony, 1942 and all work very well. Like i say is a good alternative until MAME
Can it use the gameboy camera like this one? https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sameboy/id6496971295?l=en-GB
Don’t think so. I’ve got no interest with the camera so never tried at all this other emulator looks good. Shame about the monthly subscription but I’ll see what it’s like without it just wish we had MAME ! like I say that final burn app is decent
