It's a singe ~$15 purchase with no subscriptions, projects can be later published on the AppStore if you're willing to go full dev (Apple's developer licence not included, though), plus you can actually learn to code, whether it's for games or any kind of app you may come up with. If you're not willing to publish your projects, you can still share them with other Codea users and try theirs as well. Just saying. Even TouchArcade briefly covered it several years ago, when it was still an iPad-only app. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Edit: I didn't even get to understand how to use the app and I'm already seeing privacy policies and terms of use. Deleted. Looking forward to other people's experience with the app. ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ Stronsay likes this. Stronsay Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2015 987 230 43 #3 Stronsay, Mar 7, 2024 Brilliantly simple idea. Design pages with photos and text, then link them with selective branching or at random. That’s all there is. No coding. Thought it too basic to be of much use, until I saw what people have produced already. Some remarkably creative minds out there. Shame it’s subscription based. sebgo Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2010 836 399 63 Male 95% leisure. Somewhere in a town amidst the Amazon jungle. http://www.google.com #4 sebgo, Mar 7, 2024 According to what I read, using it without a subscription doesn't limit what you can do with it. It's mainly for online storage, up to 30 MB (which sounds too little, considering projects might include several images and you'd have to go through a compression process in order to reduce their size). I got lost in the tutorial and made it only until the app teaches you how to add and resize a rectangle. I didn't check other people's projects, though. Still, I wouldn't call this "the best" in its category. I'll give it another go just to check what other people have done with it. Stronsay Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2015 987 230 43 #5 Stronsay, Mar 7, 2024 Thanks, didn’t realise how the subscription worked. Of course there are no great games, and unlikely to be, as it’s just linked photo montages. I was interested to see that anything could be made at all with such limited resources. sebgo likes this. sebgo Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2010 836 399 63 Male 95% leisure. I've seen other similar apps offer a more game-y result, though, also with no coding skills needed. Like this (the only problem [for some] being it requires signing up in order to be used) Edit: I was thinking that, maybe, a text-based "choose your own adventure" game would be the most appropriate genre for the capabilities Downpour offers. Still, it remains a fairly limited tool. (You must log in or sign up to post here.) Show Ignored Content Share This Page Tweet Your name or email address: Password: Forgot your password?
