I dedicated myself to work 5 minutes a day no matter what, and built the game piece by piece, not really knowing where I was going or how it would all end. • Caves of Lore is a turn-based, pixel-art, fantasy CRPG that combines elements of environmental exploration and character interaction with tactical, grid-based combat. Fun and weird adventures await as you progress through a world full of monsters and humor. Hidden secrets and strange powers abound, allowing for a highly customizable party. • Vast amounts of loot and treasure constantly increase your power, while dialogue, books and lore are waiting for those who want to be drawn into the world further. • Dark themes and ancient horrors don’t keep this game from remaining upbeat and funny, with a story that unfolds in unexpected ways. Tactical combat, endless magical item combos, and a vast array of spells, abilities and traits make for great replay value. • 6 character capacity party, 65+ spells, 65+ abilities, 65+ traits, 50+ monsters, 40+ NPCs , 30+ quests, and 20+ areas to explore. Hundreds of items and tens of thousands of enchantment combinations make for all manner of powerful items. Love the magic spells and the sprite work. As soon as I get home from work, I am definitely buying this to support the lone developer. This looks exactly like the type of game I have been hoping the find on the iPad for years. The game is getting really good reviews on Steam. Please consider supporting this developer. We really need more games like this on the iPhone/iPad. jkluk23 and ste86uk like this. vsnlap Member Jan 18, 2024 23 9 3 #7 vsnlap, Jan 31, 2024 Looks really nice! gmattergames Well-Known Member Mar 1, 2013 607 42 28 #8 gmattergames, Jan 31, 2024 Well crafted old school party based RPG; obvious a lot of love went in to this. Translates fairly well to mobile, finding the click-to-move a better option than the directional stick which isn’t floating so a bit awkward. Seems like the character development is pretty deep with a ton of skills, spells and abilities to customize the party. Looking forward to sinking some time into this one, a rare gem that’s definitely worth the price of admission for any fan of classic RPGs. ste86uk likes this. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #9 anthony78, Jan 31, 2024 Also liking it so far but think it probably could have used additional tutorials due to how much customization is possible. Also, the click to move seems to be enabled even if you have the directional stick on the screen. Is there a way to remove the stick if you want click to move and disable click to move if you want to use the stick? Having both working a once is clunky and control settings only seem to apply to controllers and keyboards. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,716 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #10 squarezero, Jan 31, 2024 Yes, you can remove the stick, but you can’t (currently) stop click to move. Frankly, I prefer click to move — it gives the game a classic CRPG feel. To remove both sticks, click on the stick-looking icon on the top left side of the screen. BTW, I was also a little lost at first, but things started coming together fairly quickly. I just left the initial cave and recruited a whole party. Even with Death Stranding and One-Punch Man, this could very well be my GOW. gaberaph and ste86uk like this. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #11 ste86uk, Jan 31, 2024 The review I seen I’m sure said there isn’t a lot of tutorial or hand holding with how to play and guiding you on your quests because it’s suppose to feel more like an old school rpg. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,716 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #12 squarezero, Jan 31, 2024 At the some time, there are some much appreciated quality of life features.
