You have a deck of cards each level, and if you don’t clear the board by the time it runs out a death card takes up one permanent space. you make pairs, three of a kind, flushes etc. and place cards next to each other or death cards. If you clear the board you get a sun card and use that to clear a death card or a row of them. Great game. Any chance I could convince you to allow the 2 to wrap around from the Ace? Also would you consider adding power-ups to the game that you could earn with points? Like one-time use? elcrazy likes this. elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 707 562 93 #9 elcrazy, Jan 20, 2024 Not sure about a wrap around, buuuuut you should be able to do A23. Which you currently cannot do. I don’t think you should be able to go AK2 as that is not a real hand. I thought about power ups but not sure what they could be. Contentato Member Jan 18, 2024 6 2 3 Male #10 Contentato, Jan 22, 2024 Thanks! I'm happy you're enjoying it This is the number one question I get asked, if the Ace can be a low card too. It wouldn't be terribly hard to put in, but I'm not sure that it wouldn't throw off the difficulty curve a bit. It's on the table though! (poker pun!) As far as expanding mechanics, sure, it's possible, if something good comes to mind and it works well in testing If I did add a low ace, that's one way I'd possibly do it - keep it from bridging a king and two. Always open to suggestions. Would you consider a “power up” items shop you could buy one-time use things with by earning points? For example, making chains, or long card / L-shaped clears? also, I have to ask because I’m desperate: Any chance you’d think about making a poker hand battle game? Swords & Poker, Poker Knight, Poker Heroes and Pixel Poker Battle are all gone, so I thought I’d make an appeal for a wide-open genre that is under-utilized. elcrazy likes this. elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 707 562 93 #12 elcrazy, Jan 23, 2024 I could see a shuffle power up or a use the second card instead power up. But game is kinda great and addictive how it is. Not sure it needs them. I do agree on a new poker battle game. That would be awesome. Contentato Member Jan 18, 2024 6 2 3 Male #13 Contentato, Jan 23, 2024 I am going to be testing setting the Ace as a low card for sure. Its going to take a little bit of work, but that's potentially the next update coming. As for my next project, I'm still in early prototyping and I haven't committed to any designs yet. But I'll definitely announce it once I do! Thanks again y'all. I do appreciate the support - I don't intend to ever put in a popup that asks 'how do you like Solquence' but if either of you want to drop a rating/review on the app store or Google play that would be awesome Contentato Member Jan 18, 2024 6 2 3 Male #14 Contentato, Feb 5, 2024 Hey friends - I just published the 2.03 update on iOS and Android. Aces are now also low Wraparound K-A-2 doesn't work, but if you happen to put an Ace between a K-Q and a 2-3, both straights will clear. Should be on everyone's devices shortly! Appreciate the feedback, happy to be able to get this update out there. Chq Well-Known Member Jul 20, 2013 446 61 28 #15 Chq, Feb 6, 2024 The game looks interesting. Is this game accessible to someone who doesn't know the rules of poker? Contentato Member Jan 18, 2024 6 2 3 Male #16 Contentato, Feb 12, 2024 I think so for sure. The poker rules are used for matching and even then they aren't exactly like poker You've got straights - cards in ascending or descending order and flushes - a row of cards with the same suit symbol - and then just pairs and triples which are exact matches. I think you'd pick it up easily. There's a free to play demo on itch if you'd like to give it a try https://contentatogames.itch.io/solquence-demo Enjoy! Chq likes this.
