Rivals of Aether is known for its intense competition and twitch skills, while Dungeons of Aether allows you to take things at your own pace - but it’s still just as challenging! Every choice you make can lead you deeper into the dungeons or to an early demise. Will you carry out a treasure chest, or be carried out in a pine box? The combat in Dungeons of Aether uses a dice draft system that ensures each battle is unique while challenging the player to adapt the pool of dice each turn. Use fortune to your favor to defeat your foes, collect treasures and shift the odds in your favor... Game Features: - Meet four NEW HEROES from the world of Aether, each with their own unique skills and memorable personalities. - Play STORY MODE and travel to the steampunk town of Julesvale and brave the sprawling caverns underneath it. - Explore each DUNGEON BIOME as you dive into Julesvale Mines, the Lava Caves, the Underground Oasis and the Mineral Deposits, collecting revealing Journal Entries along the way. - Brave the CHALLENGE DUNGEONS if you are looking for true roguelike difficulty to test your skills in the randomly generated dungeons. But that said it still looks like it could be pretty great, reviews seem mostly positive on steam and seems suited for mobile. I don’t know why anyone would play this on PC with all the choice you have there but on mobile it could be a little gem if it’s good. The level of strategy is pretty high, but, after using the in-game tutorial book and practicing a few rounds I feel like I know what I’m doing now. At least so far. I haven’t played any dice drafting games (that I know of) unless Dicey Dungeons is considered a dice drafting game. I think if you like what you see in the screenshots and are willing to learn the mechanics, this is a solid pickup, especially for $5. elcrazy, ste86uk and AltsKev like this. solarnya Well-Known Member Jul 22, 2015 907 287 63 Male Close to Tokyo, Japan #9 solarnya, Nov 29, 2023 I finally pushed the buy button I couldn't resist. It has very unique combat mechanisms. The graphics, and the music are perfect so far. Yes, it had tons of fun t o play. It'll be the one of the greatest dice game on iOS, I'm pretty sure. My only con is, it has black border on the side on my new iPhone 15 Pro Max. I didn’t notice any in the video or on screens. Is it very big or noticeable? It’s a shame they can’t fill the screen though especially since it’s on steam and must do there? solarnya Well-Known Member Jul 22, 2015 907 287 63 Male Close to Tokyo, Japan #11 solarnya, Nov 30, 2023 @ste86uk It's not too annoying compared to other games those have borders, but many ppl hate this I know. Only dice drafting games I have played are dicey dungeons, if it’s considered one. It was was kind of meh for me. The other was Roll player and I loved that. But I did always want it to have a feature like this where you actually fight. What’s holding me back is how much of an rpg is it? Is there a ton of story? Lots o reading and walking around taking to characters? I just don’t got that in me anymore lol. But if it’s more like a slay the spire roguelite with dice drafting I think I am in. I watched one review but all he discussed was the drafting and those mechanics. And that he didn’t like the addition of the different characters you are forced to use. Anyways I think I may not before I hear back. But let me know lol. elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 707 562 93 #13 elcrazy, Dec 1, 2023 Picked it up last night and had a chance to give it a go today. Currently on the second floor of the second Dungeon and I absolutely love it. Exactly what I was looking for. ste86uk, solarnya and Anotherkellydown like this. The dynamic of baiting your opponent into making a mistake or draining their stamina is a good one. On the medium setting, I found a lot of use for consumables, which can be a hard balance for a game to achieve. There’s a certain joy in figuring out gear combos that can make characters nearly broken. That said, I don’t love dice drafting games. Squinting at a bunch of numbers to make sure you didn’t screw up gets exhausting. But I don’t regret picking this one up. squarezero and ste86uk like this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
