On a side note, @ste86uk, I looked up that album. Holy crap - it’s rad. Had me from the intro to the first song. I immediately added it to my iTunes library. ste86uk likes this. mastery51 Well-Known Member Oct 21, 2009 505 253 63 #4 mastery51, Nov 10, 2023 This game is actually pretty cool. I love chess! And adding a rougelike element definitely peaks my interest. So far I like it a lot! However there is a couple things I can see that might turn some people off. I’ll probably post these suggestions on their discord if they have one. Some quality of life improvements I can see happen to this game is, it needs a term glossary system. For example when you select a new piece for your reward, some of the terms in the descriptions, I have no idea what it means. I know how to play chess but when it comes to all the terms especially one I never heard of, I don’t. It would be nice to hold down on a highlighted term to get a definition. I had to look up the chess term Cardinally. Also some of the reward description say the chess pieces can be upgraded to something else a knight to a Pegasus. I would like to know what a Pegasus can do. When selecting a new piece for a reward, maybe a small graph next to the description showing the pieces movement pattern. Other than that I’m enjoying it!! It’s a nice twist for rouge likes. elcrazy and ste86uk like this. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #5 ste86uk, Nov 11, 2023 @Anotherkellydown well it’s free to try with an iap to buy so nothing to loose checking it out. I do like it when they do things like that as £7.99 I’d have to want the game a lot first and may not buy but free I’ll try anything interesting and buy if I really like. Thats awesome you liked the album, great stuff for sure but sadly I don’t know many people that appreciate music like that elcrazy and Anotherkellydown like this. elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 707 562 93 #6 elcrazy, Nov 11, 2023 Wow this game is awesome. So I want to start by saying I am not the biggest lover of puzzle games these days. And I don’t play much chess. I know how, but can’t remember the last time I played. I do sometimes like games based on chess. This one is really good. Plays like a traditional roguelike. It’s Slay the Spire on a chess board. The upgrades are really cool. There is strategy but I don’t find it overwhelming. If you like chess, roguelike, puzzles or slay the spire style games you should give this one a go. You also get a lot for free. No ads, no timers or anything. You get a full game for free with DLC for the rest. No reason not to try this. By far the best way to do premium on iOS. ste86uk and Anotherkellydown like this. Not inherently, but the AI is unwilling to trade for it, so it’s a simple matter to march King and Prince up the board and KxK. elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 707 562 93 #11 elcrazy, Nov 12, 2023 Paid for the full game. Not sure I see what prices are different. Feel like I saw them all before upgrading. But at least I get more levels. I do like that you can change the IQ of the AI with a slider in settings. Makes the game have a large difficulty difference. The one downside is you don’t unlock anything. I really wish some of the lives and relics were unlocked over time so you feel a sense of growth and accomplishment. Even if it just let you choose more starting relics each time you beat it. Or something new once in a while. But you start off with literally everything unlocked. Just random what pieces you see each game. Oh the practice mode when purchasing is very cool. It gives you a full way to practise with any piece or relic. It also gives you a way to play full chess with regular setup or so many different setups based on the pieces in the game. You can hit a random button and it changes the pieces. Then you can play against someone or again against AI. For anyone who loves Chess this may be a no brainer. I think they would love the many different styles and the amount of difficulty levels. I hope they update it with some kind of way to make you feel a sense of progression or stuff to unlock. But regardless it’s really great. ste86uk likes this. djstout Well-Known Member Jul 21, 2011 2,685 105 63 Sportscaster & football (soccer) coach Taiwan & Japan #12 djstout, Nov 17, 2023 I absolutely loved this game but it’s unfortunately far too short for the price from my point of view, that said I don’t regret spending the money on the premium iap.
