After i played metal slug 3 today, i went back and opened metal slug 4 and 5 along with shock troopers 1 and 2. The one significant thing that i noticed was the enormous amount of time the games took to load. It was around 1 minute to launch the game. Earlier when i had installed these games they used to open pretty quickly, but now it's taking extremely long! I was first introduced to Metal Slug back in the late 90s because my neighbour had a Neo Geo system. In my old age, I just want a game without all the bells and whistles and just lets me have play and have fun and I think Dotemu with Metal Slug 1, 2, X and 3 did an excellent job of this. I did however purchase the Hamster Co. Metal Slug 5 aca neogeo (however, I have not played it much) I just prefer the near perfect default full screen (not stretched) of the Dotemu series (left) for me on iPad mini 5. When I set to full screen on Hamster Co. I have found a way around it. In the settings of the game, under user settings, just disable online rankings, and the loading issue is gone altogether when playing offline.
