On the surface, Asobimo has learned much from Genshin Impact: this is a proper single player game with a gacha system, as opposed to gacha “game” with the trappings of an RPG. Visually it has a lower budget than Hoyoverse games, but it’s still a credible anime world. The character and leveling mechanics borrow heavily from Honkai Star Rail. But the storytelling and the combat system are also suggesting a strong Tales influence. We’ll see how it develops; so far, I’m engaged enough to keep at it. On the surface, Asobimo has learned much from Genshin Impact: this is a proper single player game with a gacha system, as opposed to gacha “game” with the trappings of an RPG.
