Might give it a shot and see how bad the microtransactions are. Never got into Clash Royale, so maybe this’ll be an entry point into those kinds of games ste86uk likes this. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #3 ste86uk, Nov 3, 2023 Last edited: Nov 3, 2023 I’ve been playing it since it softlaunched on iOS properly and I’m still playing it and enjoying it. Great graphics and really enjoy the gameplay and I prefer the bigger more strategic maps and changes over clash Royale as it feels like it has more variety. The single player campaign alone is great, I enjoyed having to think and come up with a new plan to beat certain tough levels where my usual tactic wouldn’t fly. So it felt rewarding to beat those and nice to see so many different things instead of it feeling like any sort of grind. Although once you complete those you unlock the heroic campaign, that kicks things up a gear! So p2w, people can buy gold and gold is an important resource you shouldn’t waste and will give spenders and advantage. But none of that matters at all in the pve part of the game and the spenders will shoot up the ranks on PvP and not be an issue anyway unless you want to be one of the best in the world. I did buy the arclight booster though which to me is kind of like buying the game. Anyone had any questions or anything feel free to ask, I run a guild and we are doing really well and like I said I’ve been playing a good few months now so maybe I can help with questions. Also I really can’t say enough how anyone interested should try it, even if you just play the single player campaign and don’t touch PvP I had so many good moments playing through it. TLDR: yes it’s p2w but you don’t have to spend at all and honestly it doesn’t matter, it’s a great game, check it out. houseofg likes this. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #4 ste86uk, Nov 3, 2023 Honestly you don’t need any of them, the only one that stands out is the arclight booster as that does boost rewards for playing the game so you feel left out if you don’t have it. It’s not cheap but I considered it my way of buying the game. But the bonus is its value accumulates everything you’d have earnt extra while playing. So you can play for a few weeks or months and then buy it and get everything you’d of got if you bought it day 1 so you don’t miss out or feel like you have to get it early on. You’ve got time to decide. Even still it’s not necessary all iaps will just speed up progress. There’s no energy or anything you can play as much as you want. ShinHadoukin and houseofg like this. Also the build seems rough. Kinda reminds of the soft launch/beta build to be honest. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #6 ste86uk, Nov 3, 2023 @Rocksaint i had that bug recently but not at the moment. They seem to iron some like that out quickly. But honestly I was surprised they are launching right now because there’s still a lot of bugs in the game and you’d expect perfection from a launch from blizzard. Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 666 367 63 #7 Rocksaint, Nov 3, 2023 Exactly. I played it a bit during soft launch and it seems not much has improved since then. For e.g. the splash screen artwork looks of low quality. The font used in some places looks pretty generic. There was some heating initially when I was playing. Same things that I observed in the soft launch build. I’d expect a company like Blizzard to improve on those areas before a worldwide launch. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #8 ste86uk, Nov 3, 2023 Last edited: Nov 3, 2023 @Rocksaint I agree, definitely expect more from them I think they just wanted to launch for blizzcon for some reason instead of waiting until it was ready. I did get a heating issue but after getting time 15 pro max it stays cool. At the moment my dungeons are bugged so I can’t play any at all and a few weeks ago my whole game was bugged and I couldn’t do anything until they fixed it so there’s big bugs and lots of little ones. Weirdly the loading was really good and quick but lately since one of the updates it’s gone slower and not as good, but even still I recommend the game. Rocksaint likes this. Seems like they have a deal going to buy IAP bundles directly through their website and battlenet ID and completely cut out Apple and the AppStore. Isn’t that what the whole Epic games/Fortnite thing was about? I know Microsoft/Activision/Blizzard ( is there a shorter name for that?) is a big company now but I don’t think Apple will take it from anyone. Anyone know if it’s still a rule? Epic lost didn’t they? I can’t remember but figured since Fortnite never came back…. @Boardumb @squarezero Wall Jump Games Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2020 169 88 28 Male #17 Wall Jump Games, Nov 22, 2023 I think that Epic won on that count but lost on everything else because they pushed for more than their initial thing. But don’t quote me on that. Also I think still referring the Activision Blizzard is fine, or maybe ActiBlizz. XboxActiBlizz if you are making reference to the fact they are owned by Xbox.
