Pre- order not active yet. But is being displayed on appstore. It will be a universal purchase for iOS, iPadOS and Mac. Says in description that release date is a place holder. iap price is also being displayed on the AppStore page for your region. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/resident-evil-4/id6462360082
Great can’t wait to get resident evil 4 on my M1 iPad Pro also looking forward to the performance and how well it runs
Is that how much it’s really going to cost? Iap says the game is £57.99 with a £15.99 dlc pack! I know they said it’s a console quality game but that price seems insane for iOS. I’d pay £30 I’m not sure I’d pay much more for a digital only iOS game.
RE4 will be a universal purchase for iOS, iPadOS, and Mac’s with m1 or better chip. I think If someone has a Mac and one of the 2 mobile devices it seems worth it to me (if the game runs well enough). But if someone only has just one device an iPhone 15 or an iPad then I agree it is a pretty high price for just mobile. Not knowing if it will one day be removed. *Bioshock flash back.*
I think the price is fair but I might wait till I have a more powerful iPad I have the m1 but I just feel battery life and performance might be an issue I might try the free part though
Does this really need to be started now? The Ipad will burn up and the cell phone battery will last half an hour? I know Resident Evil 4 remake and Resident evil village from my Plastation 5. A pleasure on the big TV. But on the tablet.... The focus should be on premium mobile games again. There are consoles and PCs for such games. Change my mind
I happen to agree with your point however some of us don’t have a ps5 or Xbox x at the end of the day if you’re playing games on mobile we already know mobile devices are not game consoles but I’m glad apple is starting to realize all the graphics horsepower of the latest devices and I hope thermal efficiency is better in more powerful devices at least for those who don’t have a ps5 this is another way to play games
Having played Village on the M1 Mac, I plugged it into my 65” TV and got my Xbox Controller, ran it on battery and I was playing for hours. It will run amazing on the iPad and iPhone.
„Having played Village on the M1 Mac, I plugged it into my 65” TV and got my Xbox Controller, ran it on battery and I was playing for hours. It will run amazing on the iPad and iPhone.“ All right, especially on the iPhone...
It’s the same price on Steam for the PC in Canada, an already too high $79.99, plus 15% tax. At least on iOS, there seems to be a ton of in app purchases as well. I will say”no thanks” to this one.
This is all hilarious grousing from folks who paid $1000+ for a phone. I for one will gladly pay full price for the novelty of playing a complete version of RE:4 on my iPhone 15 Pro. Frankly that’s as good a reason as any I’ve used to justify buying a game for full price on PC and console (many of which I ended putting down after an hour of play). @David1953 I haven’t heard of any IAPs beyond the full purchase and DLC (which is the same that’s available elsewhere). Curious where you got your info.
Honestly Ive never played resident evil games but do have a ps4 controller and can’t wait to try it out with my brother I am beyond excited for RE4 as well as RE village looking forward to trying the free part first for both games
I had another look at the IAP’s, squarezero, and saw one big DLC pack at $27.99, along with a whole pile of “weapon upgrades”, and was confused by the large number of them. It seemed more than what I recall seeing on Steam, but on second thought, it may actually have been the same. This was all on the Canadian App Store. I never pay full price for a game anyway, especially one priced at over $90 Canadian dollars after taxes are added in, but that’s just my own opinion.
Thanks for looking into it. Choosing to avoid paying full price — especially for console games — is always a reasonable stance. What I find amusing is complaining about a company making people who regularly shell out $1000+ for a gaming device pay the same price as folks who buy $300 consoles. You certainly don’t have to: there are plenty of amazing games on the platform that are free or remarkably inexpensive. I just don’t get the attitude that iOS gamers are entitled to such bargains. Getting to play the RE:4 remake on your phone is clearly a luxury experience. Not sure why anyone would expect it to be discounted.
@squarezero for me it’s probably because I haven’t played resident evil since I was a kid and was never really into it so I’m not really interested in it. I’ll check it out since it seems we can for free but for me it’s a lot to pay for a game I don’t even want but at a lower price I’d of taken the chance to see if I like it but that’s too high a price to test if I like it or not and wouldn’t even buy it for my switch at that price for the same reason. Also there’s the whole digital vs physical thing for me if I game costs the same or more digitally as I could get it physically I’m not happy and iOS is all digital so prices should be lower accordingly. It looks like I can buy a physical edition game on console cheaper than the digital version on mobile will be from a quick google search. That’s always a no no for me buying anything on switch too. Besides I don’t want the mobile community to be accepting of high console like prices, because once everyone or the majority accept it those are the prices we will get everything will increase in price forevermore. Although if the games were bigger and better to match the price that would be different like I loved Monster Train and BattleChasers Nightwar I’d of paid full console price for those games but at the time I didn’t know what either game was very well and if they weren’t priced lower like they were on mobile I may never have taken the chance and tried them so I think sometimes the prices here encourage more people to buy and try things where if it was a big price they may think harder about the investment. But I do get the irony that I’m saying some of that while holding an iPhone 15 pro max
That’s going to be the test, right? Would they delist a $60 game? It should be noted that MH:FU is still available to redownload.
