So first the bad - under the flash visuals its just ANOTHER cookie cutter raid, summoners war, hero wars, (insert random hero type game) - everything in the game has been done or seen, there is nothing really new.. season pass, raise gear levels using same gear, dungeons aimed at getting materials, stamina, different currencies for various stuff - the stories have a few lines of extra dialogue but we already know them verbatim - Videos are mainly things we have seen before - no localisation of voices - the auto play is better than a human player and is given to you almost immediatly - The stories are not yet completed.. not by a long way - Chocobo missions = choose randoim heros, send them off on time mission, they come back with XP and loot.. yawn The good - Story mode is free, so you will be able to play those no problem - Stamina isnt used everywhere, mainly on the material griding runs. but this is again, not new. Most games of this type have sections that are 'free' to play - You get all heros, the game is based around weapon and materia - The combat IS a modern take on ATB combat.. its actually quite nice - Graphics are amazing from the animated wallpapers to the cut scenes - Music, sound effects are stunning - All heros levels up a little after missions, you dont have to micro manage all of them, this is about the gear not the heros Basically, my excitement for this release started to dwindle after an hour of playing.. i literally went back to other games feeling sad If you already have a 'raid' type game you play or are looking for a new one, this game will get very old very quickly.. gonna give it another day but i think after stories are done, this will gather dust / be deleted. I am sad.. decript and VirtualBoyFreak like this. tinkie277 Well-Known Member Jul 11, 2013 136 51 28 Male Street Cleaner Scunthorpe, United Kingdom #5 tinkie277, Sep 7, 2023 One word. ‘Ruined’ All they had to do was charge small amounts for the episodes with a season pass. You have confirmed all of my thoughts. FWIW, I’ll continue playing Honkai Star Rail, which for me still has that incredible FF feeling vibe, but with everything new to my old eyes that have witnessed many, many adventure and RPG games since the Amstrad era. squarezero likes this. tinkie277 Well-Known Member Jul 11, 2013 136 51 28 Male Street Cleaner Scunthorpe, United Kingdom #7 tinkie277, Sep 23, 2023 Been playing this quite solidly since launch and sadly without spending money, it's really difficult to move forward. I have easily spent around £80 now, can't say my team is particularly amazing, I think that I will just play here any there and imagine the game it really could of been. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,715 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #8 squarezero, Sep 23, 2023 I know that this is FF7 and all, but I’d rather get my AAA JRPG from Honkai Star Rail. Not only is it a much better game (than EverCrisis I mean), it also has a much fairer monetization system, especially if you don’t go too deep into the gacha gameplay (which is essentially optional).
