Some interaction during exploration but more about managing loot and gear, which is fairly deep and satisfying. I do not want to spoil things. I never play games where it is auto combat, but this game is so well done, I lost track of how many times I was playing and something unexpected was introduced and I said, “Man this is a cool game! These guys know how to make a game that hooks you.” If you like grinding, this game be for you. Solarclipse likes this. First of all with the graphics which are beautifully realised. Second, the writing is fantastic. Really funny at times and full of personality. And third, the sound, which is absolutely wonderful. Evolving pieces of music that change with each new star gained in a location, spooky Steve Moore-esque synths and lots of variety. I’ll definitely be checking out Moonsailor’s other work. It’s nowhere near as idle as you might think initially and there are some great interactions to involve yourself with. But, you can grind out the levels for currency if you want to - over and over and over again thanks to the Ouroboros stone. The monetisation is a *little* disappointing, based as it is on buying powerful weapons that seem to go up in price with each new one (I’ve only got to the second one so far). But ultimately I’m happy to drop £9.99 on the first one as I’ve had such fun with the game and, for me, it’s more than worth it for the quality. There are micro-transactions for chests if you want to do that or you can spend in-game currency once a day to get them instead. Not a big issue for me. The inventory and sheer amount of weapons, shields and runes is a little overwhelming, but I’m having fun enchanting them and fusing them with no real idea of what’s going to happen! I do enjoy collecting loot The long term game - well, I’m not sure how that’s going to pan out, but there plenty of legends to complete and daily goals. We’ll see how long it keeps me interested. Overall though, I’ve loved every single second I’ve played so far. I’ve laughed out loud a few times, found myself totally engaged with the story arc and just appreciated the intricacies of how it’s been put together. For me, a truly brilliant piece of work. And, if you get as far as the referral code, please feel free to add this one - 9WGX - as both parties get a reward from it! Gorgeous full-screen ASCII animations of your character being a badass with some $10 weapon. One choice I enjoy is that these offers are made by a shady in-game dealer. Perhaps a deliberate representation of sleaze leeching into reality. But the fact is, the game can be readily beaten without paying. After winning, I bought some Ki Crystals as a way of saying “thanks for the game.” The only monetization I don’t like here is the mushroom shop’s daily free Ki in exchange for watching an ad. Would be nice if I could drop $2.99 to avail myself of that without the ad view. decript and raravan like this. raravan Well-Known Member May 18, 2014 829 38 28 #12 raravan, Aug 8, 2023 Last edited: Aug 11, 2023 I honestly can't agree more with you.
