I understand that remove ads can be misunderstanding. Removal ads gives players to continue as much times as they want to which in return will never have to buy IAP. In the design this was added as option and don't have to be purchased at all. Also, every aspect of the game can be played and owned without spending a single dime with quests/events provided. There is even an IAP currency given out for free every 20 minutes as well. The items is arranged up to that price for the convenience of the players. If they ever decide to buy much more, it would save the hassle of purchasing again and again. I've spent years and years developing my skills to provide something that is actually play worthy and I wanted to open up doors if anyone decides to support me in that way so I can make better game for the people in return. It's pretty sad that it can be portrayed as only greed and seen differently to patreons. If you noticed my past game you probably can see that I released a premium game and although it was thankfully well-accepted even with the short-comings at the time, it was difficult to continue that route and actually keep the lights on and doors open to make games. Again, there is no money needed at all to enjoy every part of the game and all IAP currency can be obtained through the game for free. Everything is open for players choices. Continuing to provide a great experience and fun games is only thing that I ever hope for. I understand that it might not be enough and you might have strong opposing view against it but I hope that you can see its only there as an option that I opened up to support on making games. Thank you again. Edit: @psj3809 It's actually really really good to hear from you after 5 years since our last discussion in Gleam of Fire. I hope everything has been great for you all those years. MetaGonzo Well-Known Member May 7, 2009 1,459 271 83 #5 MetaGonzo, Jul 15, 2023 I’m sure everyone here can sympathise with you when it comes to wanting to make a premium game but knowing it won’t pay the bills. However, is there not a more sensible middle ground? I always check the IAPs before I download something and if I see pricing like this it immediately goes into the “nope” pile. No trying out, no considering a purchase if I like it, just moving on. Seems counterproductive to say the least. If there are IAPs that look like something I would actually consider paying then I’ll download it and try it on for size. So seeing that $30 cost to remove ads will be sticker shock. Do what you need to do but just know what the market is. I check the IAP, and if there’s a subscription, tons of tracking, or, in this case, a $300 IAP, I move on. I was actually going to post the game thread but didn’t because of the IAP. And, yes, ad removal is priced way too high at $29, imo. The game looks incredibly fun and unique, I’ll give you that! I decided to download and at least give it a try, since the developer is here and being very transparent. Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to look past the ads for a while. Edit: Well, this game is really well made and fun to play. The fact that there are no forced ads changes a lot of my original feelings about the IAP pricing. I’d say give it a shot. Thank you for visiting here and sharing your game, @Snowgames Snowgames Active Member Jun 6, 2018 27 24 3 Male #8 Snowgames, Jul 16, 2023 Thank you so much @Anotherkellydown and other for the feedback and kind understanding beyond the first impression of the IAP and all. On top of it, playing the game and enjoying it made my day. I changed the remove ads to half of the price which stands at $14.99. Remove Ads was only there to support me anyways since there are Zero forced ads. I thought not many people would be interested to start off with remove ads and would be apparent that it was there for the support which was my short thinking. 5 years back to now, I never have thought making indie games would put me in so much financial problems not only for me but jeopardize my family. As I never took any investments or financial aids from other publishers so I can be creative and unconventional with what I do. In addition, I am open to feedbacks and making changes if it is needed and possible. So I really thank you all for the feedback and understanding on where I am coming from. As for the IAP list having the price up to $300, I would like to make that change as well but I'm a solo dev and changing slots and artwork needs quite a lot of time with coding and art. To sum up, as of now, Remove ads is at $14.99 with zero forced ads. Only reward ads are there. One of the future checklist is redoing the shop so it would list with more reasonable listings as you guys have given me with feedbacks. I really thank opportunities that TouchArcade community has given me and every feedback really means a lot. I am open to making changes if it would mean connecting more with gamers and you guys. If you do get time to review my game for the posting, it would be more than enormous help as well. Thank you again and please do continue give me feedbacks. After my first release "Gleam of Fire", I really thought that I needed to have better art/vision on top of game design to make more enjoyable experience. So I honed my skills in art for years and took inspirational journey. After three years of failing to finish a single game and dropping all of it for many reasons, I really needed a reason why I want to make that particular game. I found out that I wanted to share the single moment with the player. Single moment that I was inspired by, touched deeply or simply put just the thing that I really really like. On 2021, I saw this in one of New Media Art exhibition themed "Seoul Light". It was beautiful how same objects yet with different lights can give so much different feelings. Also, that moment went different signs closes in and falls into a light on the first video, I was mesmerized. Wanting to share that feeling through the game was how I was able to actually finish the game. I added some more inspirations from favorite action movies and hiphop/kpop. The game design itself started with mobile gamers in the mind. Having virtual controls really made difficult for some to enjoy my previous game. This was and is for mobile gamers. This is how "Lumen Rider" was made after years. I am so happy to share it with you and I hope you guys really enjoy it! I’m not going to be negative towards dev’s choices, especially when I didn’t even try the game, but yeah, with those IAPs? No way! Not for me. Anotherkellydown likes this. It’s the reason I return to playing. Interesting to read @Snowgames post describing inspiration from the Seoul Light exhibition. I’d say the developer has succeeded well in conveying these effects. It’s clear also that thought has been given to sound design, and kpop soundtrack is something I can listen to. As for gameplay, I can’t usually do high speed shooter things so it’s great that this is easy going. I especially appreciate the ultra slow motion when I need to shoot something! I am currently working really hard to push out a new store price sets and making some changes to remove ads item so players have bit of more bonus. This update should be out by this week if Apple review is done quickly after work is done. If it gets little bit pushed back then it should be out no later than by next week. Please give me little bit of more time I will definitely post after the update is done. As for the grinding part, the core fun or enjoyment is heavily focused on the gameplay itself not the upgrade system and RPG part of the game although it's a little extra spice to it. I respect your opinion and see the point. I hope you don't miss out the fun because of the choices I made which I can clearly see now that it can be easily misunderstood.
