RoaringKitty Well-Known Member Aug 23, 2024 51 33 18 The North #5 RoaringKitty, Sep 3, 2024 Tldr: it’s a high quality dungeon crawl. Play in landscape or portrait with touch or controller. Very fun, runs smoothly and very reasonable priced - highly recommended. This game has eluded me for the longest of times. I got intrigued when I read about it on AppRaven. I took the plunge and bought it and ended up playing it for pretty much 10hours straight yesterday. In it’s core it’s a the classic grid based dungeon crawler where you go on short quests in towers and dungeons, slaying monsters and search for treasure and gold and collect loot. When done you return to the city hub where you visit stores or craft new gear, upgrade your character and all that good stuff. When your done you go back to the dungeons for another go. You get stronger as you progress and unlock harder dungeons for more challenge with more gold and better loot and so on. The games loot system is similar to that in Diablo. You create your own character or play with one of 5 presets. The customization options for your own created character are decent but if they make a real impact in the long run I can’t tell. The gameplay loop is fun and after about 10hours I believe I have seen maybe half of what’s in here. There is something that looks like a final dungeon, but i’m not nearly there yet so I can’t speak of the actual endgame or if that even exist. At first glance the game seem pretty barebone but the pacing is excellent so you gradually unlock new skills and paths for your character to take and new stuff in town opens up. Several times I thought that I had seen everything or maxed out the character but then a new set of abilitys got revealed or a new gameplay mechanics was introduced. The ’just one more run” factor is pretty intense, so buyers beware of that I guess.. You can tell that this is a former Apple Arcade title with how polished everything is. The movement and attack system works great and is well planned out, the touch is responsive and fluid and you can play with a controller if you prefer that. The game also runs in both portrait or landscape. There is plenty of graphic options to tweak so you can make the game run silky smooth depending on your preferences and hardware. There is a story somewhere in here too, but it’s not very strong and you hardly even notice it as the games focus is on the actual gameplay. There is a dude that pops up from time to time and feed you little snippets of lore but I haven’t paid much attention to be honest. Time to wrap this up, I gotto get back to the dungeons elcrazy and decript like this. Will no doubt snap it up.. not that I have time to play right now, but definitely worth the purchase. A very nice 3D maze crawler. RoaringKitty likes this. Haven’t put much time into this time around though, but mainly because I’ve got so many I want to play that I haven’t played yet. What I would like, however, is adjustable swipe lengths, because i think the swipes should work also, when they are shorter. Also text and button sizes could be a bit bigger, i think. iPhone 15 Pro in case getting very hot with max. settings. Greetz Chris squarezero and elcrazy like this.
