A translation of Robert Alan Koeneke's (1957-2022) Moria into a touchscreen first experience. Six classes and up to eight races create a unique play experience in your battle with randomized dungeon depths. Start your game in town with rags or riches based on a custom character backstory. Warrior class is recommended for players who are new to the game. Koeneke paints a world of entropy where even artifacts of incredible power may fall apart. Learn the conditions of survival and die at the hands of merciless foes. This game wasn't made to be won, for the Balrog is a foe beyond any of you. Progress you character with experience, D&D style attribute gains (strength, intelligence, wisdom, constitution, and charisma). Gain spells, armors, weapons, wands, staves, potions, scrolls, legendary artifacts, and mining tools. Your character is persistently saved on each level transition. Large dungeon levels are randomly generated and do not persist. You may return to town to renew your character and barter for goods. The town is randomly generated during character creation, and shopkeepers feature unique personalities and bias. # Features of awesomeness * Landscape and Portrait orientation (optional rotation lock) * Character saveslot per class with resume-to-midpoint for seamless task switching * Backup characters to external storage for future restoration or access via PC data cable # Excellence in offline turn-based mobile gaming * on-demand rendering for best-in-class battery life (portable) * finger down executes game actions (responsive) * input may be reverted (accidents happen) * small download; small patches (size matters) * no network access, no ads, no in-game purchases (focus) * smart run for fast dungeon exploration with halt-on-threat (subjective pacing) # Input & Controls Documentation https://rufe.org/moria/game_input.html # Feedback * You have agency in this world. And I‘m totally in love with this game. Currently not only my favorite mobile roguelike, but even favorite mobile RPG. Seriously giving me everything I want from such game. Love the minimalist yet distinct art. Controls are well thought through (although I needed a while to find out how to drop items). So much game in such a tiny package. To answer some questions: Yes, it plays in portrait as well as in landscape. And to drop items, move highlight over item in inventory. Press and hold center of d-pad (opens item‘s detailed description) and touch red button. This way you drop something. naghihimutuc and sebgo like this. sebgo Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2010 833 398 63 Male 95% leisure. Somewhere in a town amidst the Amazon jungle. http://www.google.com #13 sebgo, Mar 8, 2024 So far, the one thing I don't understand from the UI is the square next to the character stats box with the galaxy-ish icon. When I tap it, the icon turns into a lock and if I tap it again it turns back to what's shown in the screenshot. I thought the lock was for opening locked doors, but I managed to unlock some without tapping the box I mentioned earlier. The guide doesn't mention what it does. Also, I've never played D&D, so there's plenty of stuff I won't get, but so far I'm kinda having fun (at least exploring and fighting creatures is something I've managed to achieve). I learned rations heal starvation, at first I thought they recovered HP. Resting recovers HP (but it doesn't work all the time, so I must be missing something, like a requirement of some sort; maybe eating a ration?) Somewhere in a town amidst the Amazon jungle. http://www.google.com #17 sebgo, Mar 9, 2024 My guess is we just kill things, especially beggars and drunken bastards, and go deeper everytime, probably in as fewer turns as possible until something happens and tells us "hey, you've won the game!". For a buck, I'd say I won't mind if I eventually don't go back to it. I SUPER loved the overall appearance of the game and even though all classes use the same sprite, I like it! It's so simple, it doesn't even have sound, or at least it doesn't sound at all on my phone, which is probably normal due to it being the smallest game install size I've had so far (previously, it was Enviro-Bear at 5.2 MB). I can't believe this takes a ~1.3 MB download; that'd fit in a floppy disk, I think! Oh, yeah, just kill things (ESPECIALLY drunken bastards), level up, make money, go downstairs, let us know how further you make it, stop playing it when you feel like you had enough, go back to it when you have an itch (related to the game, of course), and don't forget to report here on the forums! My psychiatrist didn't like it, even though he's a D&D fan. He said it's too simple and cheap. I actually liked it better than what little I played from Baldur's Gate because it's totally the opposite; sometimes you find joy in the simplest of things, I guess, or maybe part of me is simply justifying my latest purchase. ・‿・ Whatever the case, I'm satisfied. I'll play it some more, I know it. AltsKev likes this.
