Maybe I’m missing something or is the only way to defend against attacks really just to avoid them by dashing away? The game is fast paced and i don‘t think it makes sense to leave the player with only a dash. Most times i dash away in the wrong direction. And i play with controller. I‘d really like to hear from other players how they feel about the game, At first it seemed like a Hades Clone or tribute. But then it was so much buttons smashing until I gave up. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 703 113 #3 anthony78, Apr 19, 2023 Only played it a bit but seems fun enough. Kind of a Hades clone with the structure of Slay the Spire (with the branching paths to choose from and a boss at the end). Certainly no Hades but has me interested enough to want to see what each of the hero types plays like. Not particularly original for the genre, very similar to every other top-down rogue-like, though this is the first hack and slash game I’ve seen use the map structure, which is cool, and I like how interconnected the nodes are. The map being hidden isn’t my favourite choice tho. Definitely gonna play more, fills an underserved nice on mobile. But really, just want Wizard of Legend mobile to actually come out. Shimm5 Active Member Jan 28, 2016 25 1 3 #5 Shimm5, Apr 20, 2023 Hmmm…. I admire the polish of Netflix games, but this one seems off… low FPS, brightly saturated colors not befitting the theme and “feathery” control mechanics that seems like chopping into thin air rather than solid strikes. On top of that, the occlusion dynamics with buildings makes everything feel like paper polygons instead of solid structures. This one’s a miss. adamphetamine Well-Known Member Jan 4, 2011 968 31 28 Programmer/3D Modeling Bethlehem, Pa #6 adamphetamine, Apr 20, 2023 Played it for a bit over two hours and unlocked two additional characters. They do play differently and make the game more enjoyable. That said, something is off with the combat and it doesn’t feel smooth. The levels themselves are somewhat bland. I’ll give it some more time but I’m not sure it’ll be worth playing much longer. And you can control the resolution, textures and shadows as well for older devices and turn off post processing effects. What’s the point of the scraps and gold? Is there a store where it’s of use? I collect it during fights but it seems to disappear once I die. And what’s up with the trinkets. There are labels like “joy” and “sadness” and I see these labels on levels as well but what do they do/mean? And finally, is there a way to improve a characters base gear or is it just the “skill” trees? I do get a little bit further each time, which I think is the point. IDK. I just get some loot, only to lose it again. Rinse and repeat. Same - no idea what is going on with scraps and gold. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 703 113 #10 anthony78, Apr 21, 2023 Scraps and gold are used for upgrades but not until after you beat the first boss. Not sure what upgrades are permanent vs what carries over though. kenken11 Well-Known Member Sep 29, 2012 1,808 5 38 #11 kenken11, Apr 23, 2023 Last edited: Apr 25, 2023 I played for 3hrs and finally gotten a hold of this game. Need wand (range) to go further else by meele, Hp will keep chipping. Didn't manage to kill the cursed King (last stage boss) at first attempt - almost complete the game HAHA! Guess some grinding is needed to improve the permanent stats so as to kill the final boss easier. nestea5 Member Dec 30, 2008 12 2 3 #12 nestea5, Apr 25, 2023 Really enjoying this game so far - Anyone have info about the emotion effects? I'm a bit confused as to choosing joy or fear path for example. So far I've unlocked 2 characters. This game could use a tutorial to explain things more or some kind of in game manual would be helpful too. Overall this game has been perfect my daily commute. Still displeased with the building-transparency ad the character walks and fights at certain angles. Overall, my initial impressions still stand. agreen437 Well-Known Member Jun 12, 2014 1,702 222 63 #14 agreen437, Apr 28, 2023 I just started playing this this is like summon quest but better and partial controller support yeah Nekku Well-Known Member May 31, 2013 1,542 7 38 #15 Nekku, Apr 30, 2023 Works with DualSense Controller but doesnt work with my Kishi.
