Its a f2p single stick doom action rouge like rpg with idle stuff to earn currency when not playing. Nothing to terrible. Its free , its fun for what it is. Has purchases if you want to spend some cash as people will do. Kill stuff pick an upgrade rinse and repeat. ShinHadoukin Well-Known Member Feb 20, 2015 972 143 43 #3 ShinHadoukin, Mar 22, 2023 A little like a "bullet hell roguelite" than an Archero skin. You continue shooting while moving, which I like. Yes, F2P, but fun. Better than the Croft game in my opinion. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,971 722 113 England #4 psj3809, Mar 22, 2023 Same here. 5am here and I r just been playing an hour straight might be freemium but it’s a ton of fun and very addictive. That is what I did in soft launch and it gave some nice stuff on the paid tier (and some pretty nice stuff on the free tier too for those that don't feel like paying). Also whatever the $1.99 starter pack was or whatever was a pretty good pickup for what it gave you. I've been playing this game daily for about a month, love it to pieces. The glory kill mechanic is what really sets it apart for me, just like in the recent big boy Doom games. It can be the difference that saves a run from ending which makes it feel like you're never totally out of it even if you get pretty beat up in an early room. The difficulty really ramps up around area 6. That's the one where I really needed to step back and try out some of my different weapons as well as grind earlier levels to upgrade those weapons and my gear. Thankfully the game is fun enough that the grinding doesn't bother me and the daily missions help you earn stuff too. I can see people who don't get hooked into the loot gathering and leveling up stuff churning out of this one at some point but so far it's been keeping me entertained for a solid month. It's actually very generous at doling out rewards and the difficulty spikes in my experience have been more about experimenting with different weapons and gear than just brute forcing my way through with whatever my most leveled up stuff is. Hope it’s better balanced than the latest Tomb Raider game under Netflix subscription. ————— EDIT: oh, it has energy system. That’s just a red flag for me no matter how great the game might be. Unless there’s a way to remove it with season pass or some other IAP. Which I don’t see yet. houseofg and Rocksaint like this. Welp I hate those too and there is no way I know of to buy out of it, but I guess my playing habits work around it well enough that it hasn't been a huge issue. I think there were only two times I wanted to keep playing but couldn't because I didn't have energy, so I just stopped and came back to it later. But typically I have enough energy to play enough runs that I'm done for a while anyway. You can basically play 4 runs with full energy which can equate to 30-60 min of playtime depending on if you're playing the 20 level daily missions or 40 level campaign missions. Anyway yeah, if energy is a deal breaker for you there's unfortunately no way out of it. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,971 722 113 England #15 psj3809, Mar 22, 2023 I hate freemium games specially ones with multiple currencies or energy But I’m this rare example you’ll be missing out if you simply dismiss it due to that reason you can have enough goes before your energy runs out. I don’t like the energy system but each run lasts about 30 mins and with 20 coins that’s about 4 runs so a few hours solid gameplay so far so good
