I'm Antti, the developer of the game. I'm sorry you had a bad time with the app! The poor visibility of the texts in portrait orientation will be fixed in the next update which I'll submit hopefully late this week or maybe next week. I have a lot of stuff to do but I'll make sure this one makes it to the update! I'm double checking to make sure but the texts we are talking about here are the tutorial texts and similar built in to the levels, correct? Not the menus or HUD text in the world map? I haven't encountered the other issues by myself or with my testers before so those will require some more investigation and, if possible, your help. I'd like to have a specific description on what kinds of issues people are having with selecting the blocks. How do you use the inputs to select the blocks and where and how does it fail to provide the expected result? Is the issue with getting a block highlighted in the first place or is the issue with picking up the block after it is highlighted? Videos (preferrably shot with an external camera rather than screen capture since this issue may concern how the touch input behaves) illustrating the issue could be very helpful as well for me to understand it better. Another possible thing to check out is that if you have a game controller that works with your device does the issue persist when using the controller too? The frame skips are concerning. The game runs smoothly even on my somewhat ancient iPad Mini 4 so something weird is definitely going on in there! I'll have to monitor the situation a little to see if there's a pattern of some specific devices with issues or similar so I can identify what's going on. In the meanwhile I'll check if there are some obvious places for optimization, especially if something is generating a lot of load for the garbage collector since that is the usual suspect when there are occasional framerate hitches. You can mail me at antti ät hapatus dot com with details on the bugs or reply here in the thread. I just registered a minute ago on the forum so I don't even know if there is private messaging here in the forum but if so that's also an option for contacting me. All the help is very much appreciated! I'll do my best in making the game better for anyone having issues with it. jkluk23, Hulkino, aconfusedkender and 2 others like this. It's not a major one by any means but I've got a busy rest of the week coming up so I decided it's probably better to do a small one before that. Here's the changelist Version 1.0.5 - Improved tutorial text placements for playing in a portrait display. - Pit level layout updated to prevent unwanted solutions. - The Vault level layout tweaked for clarity and comfort. - Touch UI: Made it more difficult to accidentally reveal debug menu. - Bug Fix: Graphics menu items were selected in a funny order when using a controller or keyboard. - Bug Fix: Player won't stop walking if menu is opened. It'll take a day or two for the update to be reviewed & distributed. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #13 anthony78, Mar 6, 2023 Thanks for your reply! Keeping your priorities straight is priority #1 There's a new development though! I received a mail from someone who also had issues with picking up a block and I had a revelation! Currently the "virtual joystick" area where the input works does not cover the upper portion of the screen (roughly the area between the undo and menu buttons). If a block is near the upper edge of a level and the device is held horizontally the input won't register when tapping directly on the block. Tapping somewhere below should work as usual if this was indeed the issue. There also might be a small dead zone by the other edges of the screen and I'll double check if those are reasonably sized, too. In the next update I'll extend the virtual joystick area to cover more of the screen so that the game supports a broader set of "input styles". Edit: I've implemented this enhancement and it's on the next update. Please let me know if this was the issue in your case as well. anthony78 likes this.
