I have to play more to really give my impression. So far I do like it. Ghostdog1 Well-Known Member Jan 30, 2015 319 124 43 #10 Ghostdog1, Feb 1, 2023 The game is a bit shallow for a roguelike and it’s not so hard to win. And after a lot of runs I had to realize there is not really much to unlock. After 4 hours im quite sure i have seen all possible relicts and upgrades. Forward: Escape The Fold is very similar in concept to EverCrawl but without the upgrades in between the playthroughs. The best part about Forward is the idea of corrupted relicts. They all bring negativ effects but the more you have the more powerful are some positive items. And somehow the games i have lost i never had the feeling i could do something different, it was mostly unfair RNG. I also dislike that it‘s always best to avoid any fighting. I still like it but it’s really a small game. NonSoft Well-Known Member Aug 13, 2010 103 9 18 #11 NonSoft, Feb 1, 2023 Interesting take, but I'd offer a counterpoint just because I think this game is so much fun. In terms of complexity, it certainly isn't at the level of something like StS, but with ~200 cards, 8 playable characters, and 3 different abilities per characters, it allows for a ton of variety in playthroughs and builds. I just finished unlocking the characters in Classic mode and haven't yet tried Expert mode which seems like it is a significant step up in difficulty or the Journey mode which allows you to customize the difficulty. I do agree that Classic mode is pretty easy, but that seems to only be the tip of the iceberg for what is offered. In any event, for a quick, bite-sized, card based roguelike (with portrait mode) on mobile, this is perfect for me. adamphetamine and Ijipop like this. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #12 ste86uk, Feb 1, 2023 @Ghostdog1 still in work so haven’t tried it yet but the post above makes sense and even if they are wrong and you’ve also done all of that, what else could you do and enjoy for £1.79 for 4 hours?
