The rest of the freemium stuff is a red flag for me. Would like to see a premium version of this maybe with offline ai opponents , or good handpicked ghosts. That way there are no server costs so it financially viable and I don't have to fight against the mod apk crowd for my old age. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 703 113 #8 anthony78, Jan 21, 2023 Really am not a fan of ticket systems and all that F2P garbage. Might give it a shot but shocked that this got GoTW over Pocket Card Jockey, which is fantastic and will probably be one of my favorite mobile games ever. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,715 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #9 squarezero, Jan 21, 2023 To be fair, TA staff use GoTW to bring attention to a game that they feel has not gotten enough recognition in the community. Pocket Card Jockey has gotten a lot of coverage here (both a developer interview and a glowing review) so they probably felt that another game needed the boost more. That said, I’ve been pretty underwhelmed by SSR so far. The city is basically a ghost town and from what I’ve see so far, racing rivals have no collision detection. Compared to CarX Street, this is really, really basic — which wouldn’t be such a big issue if this were a premium title. I would definitely recommend CarX Street over SSR to anyone looking for an NFS style open-world experience. Performance it’s not perfect, but the developers have been regularly optimizing it and it’s definitely getting better. As to GoTW, I would have gone for Dungreed, but what do I know . anthony78, RealisticArcadeSimulator and Alex DeLargest like this. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 703 113 #10 anthony78, Jan 21, 2023 Yeah, I’m not feeling this at all. Prodigga Member Sep 28, 2015 7 0 1 #12 Prodigga, Jan 25, 2023 Hey y'all, sorry Jimbo and I have just been swamped lately and I haven't had a chance to catch up here. It's hard to find success with premium on mobile with how easy it is to pirate games. It's definitely possible; but it just wasn't a risk we were willing to take. For the next major update we're looking to bring multiplayer cruise and global chat. We agree it looks like a bit of a ghost town at the moment but that will change soon. Won't be for a little while as Jimbo and I will be taking a little break for the next week. We haven't had any time off yet. We really need to get some sleep haha. Thanks all for trying out game! RealisticArcadeSimulator Well-Known Member Feb 15, 2018 158 38 28 #13 RealisticArcadeSimulator, Jan 25, 2023 Hi, thanks for taking the time to answer after all. I understand your concerns about piracy but I still think (like squarezero pointed it out) that the game would instantly play in a different league if it were premium - or at least offered an "unlock all" type iap. I buy all my games on ios, and I'm sure most of us here do. It was kind of schocking for me to read years ago that ustwo claimed that 95% of monument valley installs on android were pirated, and 60% on ios. Still, going forced online freemium is not the real answer, as both project cars go and forza street got binned rather quickly despite holding on to this monetization.
