The conceit is that these are training simulation missions, which takes away a bit of the stakes. I’m also not crazy about how the campaign is parsed out, with each mission disconnected from the previous one. The game could use a stronger narrative thread. For the campaign, I think all you need to do is set it up so that you can go from one mission to the next, rather than return to the main menu. It would make the campaign feel more connected. Some story beats might help, too — the characters look cool, but we don’t get to learn much about them. Nice game, though. The game has been developed on an extremely tight budget, and several things have had to be left out. One of them was the briefings between levels. That could have mitigated that apparent disconnect in the story. Although all the relevant parts have been explained in the in-game dialogues. As a small sample of all that discarded content, I posted on Twitter some more insight into the 3 protagonists, Blaze, Kiro and Axel. I take good note of what you say about continuing directly to the next level. I'm hopeful that the game will perform good enough that I can give it another general review sooner than later, or even a sequel in which the characters and their universe could be addressed properly. It has a limited amount of life, the life bar is just hidden on this battle. As a hint, you'll see that the bug changes its color from green to yellow during the battle. Keep shooting until is fully yellow. After that, the game is basically over. Just keep your cool and try again, it is easier than the previous encounter! A tip: Keep your ship away and high and only face him after his attack. His attacks are mostly down horizontal or vertical. If you feel confident enough, a well timed roll will make you invulnerable during the exact time of his attack (it is very hard, but he can be defeated in speed-run time without moving away and using just rolls). If you like on rails space shooters like Star Fox, you’ll enjoy this. The conceit is that these are training simulation missions, which takes away a bit of the stakes. Just keep shooting a bit more. It has a limited amount of life, the life bar is just hidden on this battle. As a hint, you'll see that the bug changes its color from green to yellow during the battle. Keep shooting until is fully yellow. After that, the game is basically over. Just keep your cool and try again, it is easier than the previous encounter! A tip: Keep your ship away and high and only face him after his attack.
