Previously, there was a slow motion effect after respawning, where you are temporarily invulnerable that ended once you began moving the spider. This caused confusion with a user that thought the game would suddenly speed up any time you began spinning a webline. Slow motion feature is moved earlier, so it's there only as part of the death/respawn animation, and ends by the time new spider is visible onscreen. Just ran through the first 7.5 levels before losing. Not sure if you’re comparing everyone’s score (from Game Center) or just scores from this forum, but, either way I appreciate the chance to win some money. I love money. Edit: after rereading your post it sounds like a TA exclusive contest. Awesome! The game is fun but it’s frustrating when you can’t circle an enemy because part of their “body” is off-screen a lot of the time. The only fix I can think of is if you make enemies bounce off the sides instead of passing through and coming out the other side. Of course, that would probably ruin the game mechanics that were baked into Atomic Spider. easy8software Member Oct 24, 2022 10 2 3 Male #10 easy8software, Dec 13, 2022 Yes, TA exclusive contest! I agree - when an enemy (especially a boss) is half offscreen, it can be annoying having to wait, especially if trying to break a speed run record. I think the bouncing asteroids are much more fun to take out than the wrap-around asteroids for this reason. There were some changes made early on to partially address this, including: - enemies that move in straight line have heuristic to avoid ever moving straight up/down or straight left/right. - enemies that wobble have a baked in preference to steer back towards the player to avoid doing s-turns on edge of screen Anotherkellydown likes this.
