You can only move forward and try to survive as long as possible. Various unlockable and upgradable classes with each having a different special attack, 4 different biomes so far, and you constantly unlock new color palettes or items to appear in the game. Rather challenging from the get go and not as tedious as some free-to-play alternatives. Vibe reminds me of Night Skate, which is a great thing. I‘m really enjoying it. squarezero likes this. elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 707 562 93 #4 elcrazy, Oct 16, 2022 Think I am going to give this one a try. Looks great. There’s no actual tutorial within the game, and there’s some stuff like using class abilities that’s not obvious. But I agree with Rocco — nice little game. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #7 metalcasket, Oct 16, 2022 Nothing but high praise for this one. Subtle layers of depth in an otherwise insanely attractive, simple game with that “one more try” factor in spades. Keep in mind though that if you’re not into Dead Cells’ “Die. Learn. Repeat.” mantra you might have an issue with the gameplay, because you’re meant to get better as you subsequently unlock more things and upgrade your characters. Currently very much in love with this. It might actually pry me away from Tallowmere 2! Lots of dying! Haha. So far the Berserker is my favorite character. I actually made it to the first boss after several runs. Edit: It totalIy wasn’t a boss, just an enemy from a different section of the level. Working on upgrading characters first, followed by potions and other major items. Anyone know if keys are used when opening chests? I could have sworn it didn’t use my key when I bumped the chest. Maybe the keys are used for something else. Edit/SPOILER: Spoiler: About Keys & Chests There are two types of chests: those with a keyholes and those without. Touching one without a keyhole initiates a battle with a hidden enemy chest. On the other hand, touching one with a keyhole opens a chest full of prizes, as long as you have a key. I’ve got the lvl 2 Fighter, lvl 1 Archer, lvl 2 Berserker, and lvl 2 Lancer. I’ll probably keep leveling them up evenly, at least for now, since I haven’t decided who I like best just yet. They all have a nice balance of advantages vs weaknesses. Here’s a screenshot of my best run so far (it will be interesting to look back at this later): Edit: this is already obsolete, lol. I’ve already written a review on the US App Store: “Great strategy-action hybrid with much more depth than first meets the eye. You’ll upgrade equipment, fighters, potions, you name it. But to truly succeed, you’ll also have to pay attention to he path you take. There’s a lot of strategy in your movement alone, not to mention the enemy movements and attack patterns. Will be playing this indie gem for quite I while I have a feeling. Is that to display what you bought with gold (during game start when you find a store) or is there any way to buy anything in Items? I am guessing the only way to buy anything (other than leveling heroes ) is through gameplay when you find a shop. I can’t seem to find any information on it. On another note I am very much enjoy the game. These kinds of games I’m very picky about but this one I’m enjoying so far. I just need to know how I can gather some permanent power so I have a little easier time pushing forward. Thanks! Too often at the start, the combination of bad RNG for enemy placement and attacks missing and it’s gameover. I’ve managed to get to the second biome and unlocked the archer, so it’s still early days and perhaps there’s some nuances I’m missing. My initial thought is having either another lane or an ability to wait (which could be on a timer) would make the game more interesting. If it’s a case that I just need to grind some more to upgrade the heroes, I’m not sure I have enough invested to do that. Alex DeLargest likes this. The reason is, as you mentioned, because the class is too heavily luck based. Stats boost from leveling up being both offensive related and defensive being limited to a few health points doesn’t help either for a roguelite game. I suggest you switch to the archer. The archer has much higher survivability, and a skill with strategic use. Alex DeLargest likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
