Just a 16 player battle Royale with ships. Has different ships, maps and crew that have different abilities and you just battle to the end. You unlock cards to unlock new crew and ships and upgrade them like with any of the million f2p games but at least this one is Netflix so no iap. I’ll give it another tomorrow but my first two little plays of it were promising for a quick game here and there. Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 666 367 63 #4 Rocksaint, Sep 23, 2022 Yup. Battle Royale with ships with predictable progression path and upgrades. Not a lot to say here. Plays it safe and mostly by the book. There's an event mode but didn't really get its purpose apart from gathering resources for upgrades. Ships appear too small during gameplay so lacks immersion. I'm never quite sure where my ship is turning. And most importantly, seems like there's no gating in matchmaking, so opponents take you down with weapons you have no clue about, which is highly frustrating. I'm exhausted with the battle royale genre. So not a game for me. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #5 ste86uk, Sep 23, 2022 @Rocksaint Yeh I don’t love it which is why I just said a quick game here and there too, then it’ll likely just tail off as I get bored of it. Doesn’t seem like something I’d play religiously or for long periods of time. Not knowing what the weapons do for other players hasn’t really bothered me so far, I won a couple of games but I’ve definitely been overpowered a few times by enemies that seem much stronger! As for the ship steering it turns wherever you turn it so I’m not sure what you mean by not sure where it’s going? Although they aren’t sharp controls but that’s to be expected because generally ships turn slow and wide in games I’ve played. Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 666 367 63 #6 Rocksaint, Sep 23, 2022 By the controls I meant it feels sometimes the orientation is inverse. Like I am turning right but the ship is turning left. So quick getaways or placement of the ship is hard for me. I guess this is how it’s meant to be. But in the short time I played, I couldn’t get used to it. Anyway, it’s a battle royale, so that itself turned me off. Didn’t bother trying harder to get better at it. ste86uk likes this. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #7 ste86uk, Sep 23, 2022 @Rocksaint ah I understand and yeh if it isn’t your cup or tea I can understand that. Always worth checking stuff out though like you did because you never know when something will surprise you. Can’t say I play any battle Royale type games either. The only game type I do miss at the moment is moba, I loved LoL on iOS but it became too time consuming I felt like I had to play. Rocksaint likes this. The ship combat mechanics are okay, but the “treasure island” action sequences are pretty broken and frustrating. It’s too bad — the concept is neat, but the execution is lacking IMO.
