Summary Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp is a massively enhanced version of Ultimate Talent Development Plan, the boardgame from Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. The stage is set at the tropical resort of Jabberwock Island, and players improve their characters via the "Development (Boardgame)," "Battle," and so on. Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp is the dream crossover of Danganronpa characters with over 1,000 event scenes, and offers new swimsuit outfits for all characters. Also, players can now collect collab illustrations drawn for merchandise in the Mono Mono Machine! ・Game features Development (Boardgame) The main part of the game in which players will develop their character over 50 days (50 turns) of summer camp on Jabberwock Island. Roll a die to determine how many spaces to move. An event will be triggered depending on which square the character lands on. Each character has various stats, including level. Character stats improve by leveling up, stopping on a Growth Square, or interacting with other characters on Event Squares. Bosses placed by Monokuma and monster battles triggered by Battle Squares will impede the player's path along the way. Talent Squares grant Talent Fragments, which grant characters new skills. Players will also need to acquire weapons and armor at shops and treasure chests as well as utilize cards featuring useful effects to their advantage. Battle A Battle Mode can be played separately from the Battle Squares found in the boardgame. Develop characters and form a party of up to four members and take on the 200-floor Tower of Despair where Monokuma-type monsters await. In the Tower of Despair, enemies attack in waves, and the player is rewarded with Monokuma Medals upon victory. Players need to increase their characters' levels while learning skills and gearing up their characters in order to emerge victorious. School Store In the School Store, players can spend Monokuma Medals and Monocoins they've obtained in battle to gain new characters and support items using the MonoMono Machine. Each character has different rarities, and the higher the rarity, the faster they will grow in Development mode. [Supported OS] iOS 12.0 and above. *Not supported on certain devices. I can find the game on my app store. But when I try to access using the link, it says not available in my region. Anyway, really wanna get into this. But curious to know if I can directly play this without playing the previous games. You CAN play without playing other games, but you Will have troubles with understanding who the hell are all those people. You SHOULD play other games, also because they are fun and have an interesting storyline, also you get to know all the characters who will participate in the Summer Camp I have completed all four Danganronpa games years ago and I have trouble remembering some characters. You should get first three games while they are on sale. Did you pick it up? Duder, like @Brightsiderus said, just pick up the 3 mainline games while they’re on sale and don’t bother with this. Beyond it being a $20 expanded mini game, it has a full blown free-to-play gacha system built in. Rocksaint likes this. Brightsiderus Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2017 2,234 540 113 #5 Brightsiderus, Jul 23, 2022 I dunno, I like this game. It’s interesting take on the series, though gacha can be a pain in the arse Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 666 367 63 #6 Rocksaint, Jul 23, 2022 No. Like he mentioned, it’s better to play the previous games first. I also saw a few reviews, and it feels like these games are heavily reliant on the characters. So no point playing this when I have no clue who is who. Having said that, yeah I am tempted to pick up the older games, especially the first one. But not sure how old it’ll feel now to play and the 30-hr game duration is a bit too much for me for a mobile game. Brightsiderus Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2017 2,234 540 113 #7 Brightsiderus, Jul 24, 2022 Didn’t understand about “how old it’ll feel”. It’s almost undying classic. Classic never gets old. And I don’t understand why it’s bad for mobile port of the game shouldn’t be 30 hrs to complete for that price Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 666 367 63 #8 Rocksaint, Jul 24, 2022 It might be a classic. But it might not age well on newer devices. Like being fullscreen, not looking as great, save system being outdated, etc. etc. Not saying it’s bad for a mobile port to be 30hrs or more long. But I’m not sure if I’m at a place where I will invest 30hrs to finish a mobile game. Whether the story will hold my interest for that long. Lately been burned out of lengthy, stretched games on consoles itself so have had a renewed appreciation for shorter, more well paced games. Brightsiderus Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2017 2,234 540 113 #9 Brightsiderus, Jul 24, 2022 It looks well on iPhone 11, and you can save any time you want, plus there’s auto save at the end of sequence Rocksaint likes this. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #10 metalcasket, Jul 24, 2022 Having just finished Stray a couple of days ago, I feel exactly what you mean. I love games that respect your time. That said, just like the Ace Attorney games will take literal hours of your life away, the Danganronpa games are well worth playing. Especially if you know nothing about the series (except approaching them knowing fully well that there’s horror and gore involved). The ports themselves are brilliant and the games don’t age. It’s just a lack of iCloud that’s a detriment as a whole, and there’s a lack of controller support. Look, if you don’t want to commit to 1/2/V3, just pick up 1 on sale and see if you vibe with it. Also, check out Mikhail’s reviews of 1 and 2 AND Shaun’s review of Decadence on the Switch (which reaffirms that the mainline series are incredible games, while Danganronpa S is poopoo). I’m currently playing Stray. Getting close to the end I think. Such a breath of fresh air from all those open-world games with a billion things to keep in mind while playing. That’s what I was thinking. I think I’ll get the first one, try it out. See how it goes. If I like it, then I’ll get the 2 and 3rd. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #12 metalcasket, Jul 24, 2022 Stray is probably the purest game I’ve ever played and I’m not even a cat person. Granted, I would be if I weren’t allergic. It’s bad enough the little kitty (and that effing meow button) have my heart, I was not prepared to emotionally connect with robots on any level…yet here we are. Also, for a 4 to 8 hour game, the world building is in a class of its own. Just a superb game. And haha, good decision buddy. I know an $8 pricetag is a gamble on something you may not enjoy, but trust me, you will enjoy Danganronpa. Good thing is these games do go on sale more than enough to pick the rest up down the line. (Trust me, I bought both 1 and 2 on launch and was burned both times). I finally caved in and picked up both V3 and S. Screw it. It felt silly not rounding off the collection with V3 and ugh, sorry Descenders…your pre-order had to be sacrificed for this. Rocksaint likes this. Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 666 367 63 #13 Rocksaint, Jul 24, 2022 Yeah. I was expecting to like Stray but not as much as I do now. The cat mechanics, the story, the graphics, the music, the world building and oh the lighting. I don’t think I’ve seen this good lighting in any game EVER. I am taking it as slow as possible, fearing that it will end. (As all good things must) But yeah, what a game. I mainly wanna get Danganronpa because of all the rave things I’ve heard about it but never tried it. Plus I know the craze behind Squid Game which is basically based on this concept. For most people, it was a new and unique concept. But we gamers know that it’s all been done before. metalcasket likes this.
