Feels like a F2P mechanic rather than strategy of limited energy in making decisions....why a timer to regain spent energy? I got this as a "premium" single player game. Any further insight on this energy system? May need to look into a refund before this changes to full F2P. When they first released thronebreaker it was also £10. And a year later for no reason it was delisted only for a new version of thronebreaker to appear (for free to get people to try it) with an IAP (£10) to unlock the full game. The issue is the old one that people paid for didn’t get updated (the new free one did) and you had to buy it all over again with no thought given to the original players that bought the first version. I just don’t want that to be the case with this! W8rd3 likes this. Like the other comments here, after the shenanigans of the first, I’m hardly trusting of yet another gwent game(even if it’s being single player marketed) however if it will indeed be a standalone that keeps its price, that is quite good on its own footing, and not just the studios umpteenth attempt to make us all pay for another gwent title, then sure I’ll give it a shot. gaberaph likes this. Now, why they couldn't just have it rechargeable by completing certain encounters, clearing a miniboss, etc. I don't know, as tying it to a timer seems like a bit of a 7-10 split if you're trying to balance the system in general. However, with the major caveat of *so far*, it doesn't seem like there's literal gameplay being walled off by the energy system, like stamina systems from F2P games or what have you. The only wall I can think of is to have an enemy so strong that you need a bunch of spells to beat it, but I feel like saving your OP stuff for a boss (if it's limited in quantity) is a pretty standard roguelike strategy anyway? I also clocked quite a bit of time into StS and enjoyed it. Rogue mage is not similar to StS in gameplay at all. I haven't played previous Gwent titles so can't compare to those. This Rogue Mage game reminded me of Demontide more than anything and all the worse parts of Demontide. I can't see a way for you to properly control and manage your deck. The enemy always has the advantage over you and then YOU are forced to 'pass' once all your cards have been played and enemy always plays their OP order skill and somehow goes from 20+ points behind you to winning. Your starting deck is crap. At least in StS you had a lot of opportunities to strengthen your deck and upgrade. Maybe this game is just for hardcore GWENT fans. gaberaph likes this.
