The game has really everything it needs to be the greatest Single-Player Bomberman of all time, BUT the Three-Star-System to progress levels breaks the game for me. To get all Stars the solution in every level is to be as fast as possible. For me thats a wrong choice of game-design for a game that needs in bigger levels a more strategic approach. This makes the game feel stressful all the time. And it‘s such a waste in this game. To watch carefully some enemy paths and plan an attack is so much more interesting than to just bomb as fast as you can and have luck. I played Boom Mania till Lvl 19 with 54 Stars unlocked and like in the beginning nothing has changed. And its so sad. Bad gameplay decisions in a great game. I hate being forced to rush into something - I like to take my time and progress at pace I’m comfortable with. I also have slight OCD with the need to 3-star each level before moving forward. Which in this case might be a problem and cause early frustration. On the other hand I love Bomberman (duh, who doesn’t?), so I’m really on the fence about the purchase. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #5 metalcasket, Jun 18, 2022 I’m like that too, and I’ve just gone down the route of either not purchasing or even deleting games that have a 3-star system. If I’m understanding @Ghostdog1 correctly, and NATURAL PROGRESSION is tied into 3-starring levels…holy shit, NOPE! macplash likes this. I guess I will hold onto the purchase until the 3-star barrier is removed. macplash likes this. skoptic Well-Known Member Apr 3, 2015 634 82 28 #7 skoptic, Jun 18, 2022 Last edited: Jun 18, 2022 Er… what, CGE making iOS games that aren’t adapted from their board games!?? What the Vlaada? I’m not sure if I have misunderstood the posts above, but you don’t need 3 stars to progress onto the next level? anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #8 anthony78, Jun 18, 2022 Don’t understand the complaints. You don’t have to get all three stars to open new levels. Just one has been enough for me to get to the next level. Fun game and, yes, nice yo finally have a premium single player Bomberman-style game. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #9 metalcasket, Jun 18, 2022 I mean it was just one complaint and everyone else was chiming in about being hesitant to pick up the game until the complaint was clarified. That said, Ghostdog1’s point about always feeling under pressure is still a very valid one. macplash likes this. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #10 anthony78, Jun 18, 2022 Well, I think I was the l only one who clarified it. skoptic Well-Known Member Apr 3, 2015 634 82 28 #11 skoptic, Jun 19, 2022 The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot…. metalcasket likes this.
