But I wouldn’t go so far as saying they’re “destroying the IP.” Regardless of the gacha and the auto-combat, the game is made by people who care deeply about Ni no Kuni — the visuals are stunning, and the tone, characterizations, and overall vibe are spot on. Gameplay-wise, Ni No Kuni has always been a bit of an odd duck: the first one used an action/Pokémon approach that had it’s fans, but that many found a bit awkward and boring. The second one tried a Tales/Ys action approach that was better but pretty repetitive. This kind of auto-battle/MMO approach strikes me as just one more experiment, one that puts the focus on the storytelling, the world, and the interactions rather than on the combat. As to the plan to include NFTs, well, first off, f*ck NFTs. Second, the game is clearly not designed for resource farming; as long as that doesn’t change, I’ll probably keep playing it while grumbling at the stupidity of it all . adamphetamine Well-Known Member Jan 4, 2011 968 31 28 Programmer/3D Modeling Bethlehem, Pa #9 adamphetamine, May 30, 2022 The game has a lot of auto but you cannot do that in the harder content or you'll be dead in seconds. I'm not really into gacha games but this one isn't bad. I've made it to level 51 woth 300k cp all without spending a dime. I absolutely hated that game! Such rote, boring combat, missions and writing, insufferably boring and deleted after less than a week. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,715 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #14 squarezero, Jun 3, 2022 That’s a really, really silly take. Whatever faults the game has, it’s most certainly not a reskinned Marvel: Future Revolution. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
