In the year 2020, you are elected to be the President of the United States of America. To escape justice for your past crimes as a shady multi-millionaire businessman, you need to ratify Amendment 28 which would grant lifetime immunity to any President. Manage your official and unofficial staff like a real mafioso to deal with all the old problems you’ve had in the past, as well as the shiny new problems that come with the office. You’ll battle with your competitors, the establishment, the media, and even foreign leaders. In this political thriller-satire mix, the player's actions will inescapably lead to situations that escalate into absurd, terrifying, tragic, and even ridiculous situations. But the road to lifelong immunity is full of pitfalls, and you’ll need to remember to clean up the daily messes that arise. Some might even call these distractions “presidential duties”. There’s only one way out. Change the fabric of the Constitution of the United States by persuading, blackmailing, bribing, and bullying a large part of the political system into granting you lifelong immunity. * Manage your approval rating, cash, and crew unlike any US President before – stay on top of your presidency by any means necessary * Hold speeches, draft executive orders, manage daily crises, hold press conferences, and tweet better than any President before * Hire a team of assassins, hackers, lobbyists, and other specialists. Send them on dangerous missions that can be solved by legal means. If that doesn’t work, send them on dangerous missions that can be solved by illegal means * Experience a compelling interactive narrative with a wide variety of choices and story branches. Will you end your term on your terms, or are you just a pawn in a bigger game? * Rule the country as a true mobster would with a shadow cabinet that is feared and respected on a global scale © www.handy-games.com GmbH Information Seller:HandyGames Genre:Simulation, Strategy Release:May 10, 2022 Updated:Dec 02, 2022 Version:1.0.3 Size:1.5 GB TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating:Unrated Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal Mercurial Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2020 52 19 8 Male #2 Mercurial, May 10, 2022 Pity it's published by Handy Games, this game could've reached a wider audience had it been handled by another publisher. Bought Rebel Cops anyway despite dodge reviews, played a bit, didn't really get into it. Played some other older HandyGames games and spent quite a bit on their games. Gave TITP 2 the benefit of the doubt as well as Rebel Cops. Now HandyGames saying "if you don't have a post 2020 device, sorry, you can't play" This is the President". Ice out some of their existing customer and players. "hey you played TITP 1 & 2, rebel cops, but nah, you can't play this small text-based game." I'm not a 10 year old whose parents buy them a new phone every 6 months. I'm not expecting to play games like "Battle Chasers", but come on, at least make this game available. It's just as if they've now cashed in on their older players and screw you if you don't have the latest device. By reading you fellow members of the senate, I usually can forge an opinion, good or bad, about wether I should buy a game or not. During the last decade I have been watching and taking notes. Some of you achieved great feats, others sank into depravity, violence and blasphemy. For that I can strongly affirm that video games are a big part of their downfall. Will that game lift me up to greater heights or will it inevitably led me to a life of sins? Jstorm likes this. Mercurial Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2020 52 19 8 Male #17 Mercurial, May 20, 2022 So after my previous outbursts (sincere apologies again for that), I managed to get the game and play for about 2 hours. I'm happy with the gameplay and the options available. I read some Steam reviews where it was stated that the game's options forces you to go towards the more sinister route, but so far I've bern given the option to also choose a more morally grounded path, however, your character has a dark past from what I can tell, so not sure if this plays a bigger role later on in the game. So far so good, choices have immediate and longer term effects, but only 3 months in as president-elect. Brightsiderus Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2017 2,234 540 113 #18 Brightsiderus, May 20, 2022 I dunno. I didn’t like it. First of all, you are playing as a politician with dark past and your goal is to push the law that president can’t go to jail. Yeah, you can do good things along the way, but still. And there’s always Russian and Chinese are the bad guys and America is the Savior of the world. At least when I tried the game I saw that in the game Chinese launched an app to gather biometric of babies and Russian tries to poison former KGB agent. I know it’s a satiric game, but in the real world Russian looks like the bad guys and In the game we are bad guys… again? Mercurial Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2020 52 19 8 Male #19 Mercurial, May 20, 2022 This is something that would definitely disappoint me, if the devs push a particular agenda and the "good" choices are just cosmetic. Will play through until end and see how I feel.
