Only tried for 10-15 minutes, but I’m looking forward to playing more. Nice one, Netflix! adamphetamine likes this. Oh and the tutorial never saves. If you quit in-between, you gotta start from scratch. It's 2022, you would expect a game to have better save systems than this. Update: Actually, the game crashes after you complete the tutorial. sakara214ever Well-Known Member May 10, 2012 1,262 168 63 #6 sakara214ever, Jan 19, 2022 I am really liking it so far. Gameplay is great, graphics well done, and the mechanics are fun. Very well made. I have not had any crashes like the above poster did and I've not only completed the tutorial but played for a few hours after that. houseofg and sakara214ever like this. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #8 anthony78, Jan 19, 2022 No issues here either. With Apple Arcade kinda sputtering out lately, I’m happy to see Netflix enter the arena. Not sure if this was once a F2P game but doesn’t have any remnants of it if it was. I tried Indie’s Lies recently and didnt click with me, I think mainly due to the fact it copies a lot of STS card keywords but doesnt put the card mechanics together in a cohesive way. You end up with using the best card every run and often you’re using just the same 2-3 cards. Here, no cards are too good on their own, and late game scaling is sensible and still make fights pretty hard. You can feel there is definitely viable strategies for each character. For example, as the fire mage fox you can go full aoe enemy burn or you can do self burn and use cards that scale damage and shield based on how many burn stacks you have on yourself, high risk high reward style. Roles are more defined like a MMO. You need a tank to taunt enemies because your DPS are squishy and often dont get shield cards. It might be possible to work using unconventional team lineup but I find the basic dps+tank+utility is simple enough to play. You can also buy minions which are also quite balanced and add flavour to each run. Graphic-wise, it’s pretty much Hearthstone… with furries. Art and animation is on par with HS, which is very good. Technically I do get about 1 crash every hour, but it’s autosaved every turn so you’re not losing progress. In summary, if you have a Netflix account and love Slay the Spire, then this game is a must have. If you dont have Netflix and dont ever want it, it’s a bit hard to justify $15 a month just to play this game. You can sign up for a month and try it out, but it will get expensive if you decide to keep it. Gambler, adamphetamine and aconfusedkender like this. I don’t find that it is as deep strategically than the good similar games. Talbs likes this. I’ve realised that it kind of reminds me of For the King, if anyones played that. Which is a great thing because I really wanted that game on iOS. It’s like for the king with the way the map works with there being scattered little objectives on the map. Couple of decent gripes though: Some (a lot of) tooltips appear under thumb. Because there’s a lot of obscure little details in the game, this can be quite tiring to work around (to angle the device to see the text). also, the game burns a hole in the back of my phone. Can fry an egg and all that. BlueTrin likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.) Show Ignored Content Share This Page Tweet Your name or email address: Password: Forgot your password?
