This looks fun as heck. Is this the new Kemco hit we're looking for? Honestly, I haven't bought Kemco games in a while since none looked that appealing plus they stopped doing early buyer discounts. I might make an exception for this one... kopicha Well-Known Member Feb 21, 2015 716 25 28 IT #3 kopicha, Jan 13, 2022 Any impression? Looks unique considering it’s from Kemco. Looks like a fun game. Nice to have a card battler that has some story to it (though that said story is a bit too stretched out in the beginning). Gameplay in battles is similar to StS and its clones but enjoyable. Can’t comment comment on IAPs but it is a little more pushy on the special cards that the IAP currency can get you. You do earn that currency in game and through a daily roulette wheel. Time will tell with balancing if you need those special cards later in the game to beat bosses. Kemco RPGs typically don’t require those IAPs but we’ll see. Happy with it so far! So I have nothing but money stolen). Sorry that's totally unrelated so I might hold off on buying Apple stuff for a while now. I still really want this game though :/ gaberaph Well-Known Member Feb 20, 2015 70 14 8 #7 gaberaph, Jan 14, 2022 I was about to hit buy but the whole iap for in game money seems a bit suspect. After 2 hours of gameplay…I will dispense that knowledge now: If you’re into a story then this game has plenty of the Kemco hallmarks. You can “Explore” your actual map/base. Walk around, talk to people, menial stuff (haven’t found any use YET of exploring) There is an actual storyline that is pretty wordy so far. I have the attention span of a gnat so I usually skip them…the battles are pretty Interesting once you understand that you should be and will be changing positions of your team throughout battle a lot. When doing so, certain things like heal 2hp or buff happen at the cost of 1 energy. It is essential to surviving the battles. There are cards that achieve the “change” function for you with the same benefits. Pretty neat take on it honestly and I happen to like the thought process that goes into these battles so far. Not as cookie cutter as slamming attacks every turn. Usually your forefront ally will take most attacks, so switching them helps mitigate some damage whilst healing in the process. You battle in the labyrinth through a set number of floors. You beat the final boss then you complete the labyrinth and get coins and blightstones (premium). You can replay the labyrinths again with different “karma” or buffs to the dungeon to receive higher rewards. I think there are 9 karmas per labyrinth. I’ve just been playing the 1st one repeated so far. I’ve beaten it 3 times in a row. The 2nd labyrinth is open but wanted to push this one farther first. As for what everyone is concerned about the dreaded iAP!!! Demon Coins are used in a Gacha type machine. 100dc=1 pull 1000dc=10 pull. I think I got 640dc and 40 blightstones the last time I beat the labyrinth, so not bad. The cards you pull from the gacha are then inserted into the future runs of your labyrinths ORRRR if you already have that card then it is then upgraded in ALL future runs OR gives a different global benefit. Only thing I can see so far using DC is the gacha, but still very early. As for the blightstones, yes you can purchase them if you want to (I believe it is PURELY) if you want to more or less not have to grind as much and just unlock the stuff I talk about next. So the blightstones are used for unlocking permanent buffs for your characters/gold gain/HP/extra energy/etc…I believe you can eventually unlock everything via just playing the actual game as intended. It will be Grindy but the battles are pretty cool so far and with unlocking new potential cards every run it keeps it lively. Theres a lot to learn in this game so be patient with it and let it grow. Don’t let the iAP scare you away cause I’m sure the story is good lol and the gameplay is pretty good. there’s also sheep cards you can get that will help on a run. You can use them whenever you want. They are more or less god mode cards. good luck and safe travels! EDIT: Forgot to mention I’m still on Theme(Deck) 1. I think there are 5 different decks lol. So a TON of cards to unlock since each deck has its own pool of cards. For me it's probably the most time I've spent with an StS-type since StS came to iOS, and this is one of my favorite genres. Also getting Pirates Outlaws vibes, I think because of the different labyrinths and large amount of content. Mechanics-wise I feel like it does card combos well, and there's an emphasis on building your deck rather than deleting cards (at least where I'm at; it's possible this changes). So far I haven't hit any paywalls -- as others have said it's pretty fair with the amount of coins/blightstones you can get in game, and there are some items that increase how much you get from a labyrinth. I'm on the 3rd deck and will note that while the number of unlocks has increased by 2x for each deck, most of that increase seems to be in "stickers", i.e. small permanent improvements. That doesn't seem like too much of a problem as card unlock rates are decent -- for deck two I have 9/14 of the most rare cards with a 47% unlock rate, and for deck three I have 7/14 at a 21% unlock rate (deck 1 is my worst at 6/14 and 51% unlock). It's been a good mix of new content to play with plus enough stuff to unlock to keep it interesting. The only small areas for improvement I have are that finding the quests wasn't that intuitive and that the fetch quests aren't much fun. I'm guessing picking up quests was explained in the tutorial but then I forgot, so it might be good to have a reminder. I've also only seen one offer so far, and I'm not sure if I'm missing others. Still 100% recommend the game though. andreadeda, Son of Anarchy and L.Lawliet like this. andreadeda Well-Known Member Mar 6, 2013 174 43 28 #15 andreadeda, Jan 31, 2022 I agree with the positive comments on the game; i'm getting deeper into it and it has me hooked. I was getting a bit tired with the genre (that is one of my favourites btw) but this is really well done and have interesting mechanics and progression. I'm on the fifth labyrinth and the third deck, the first deck i completed it and i'm working on completing the second one. I don't see the need for the IAP, i understand you can buy stones that unlock some perks (mostly making things easier) but so far i didn't even used the ones i obtained through the game as the curve feels perfect for me and i don't feel like making things easier. There is a main story and i found some side quest that you can start at the hub in the city (the door near you when you teleport in the city where the mother of the main character is); sometimes you can get some additional quest from your base; you get notified of new quests in both cases. Mostly they are useful to unlock new cards and complete the decks. The decks are very interesting with different sinergies for every deck; usually a couple of easy ones and some more complicated (involving increasing/decreasing cost of card, discarding, drawing more or other similar mechanics). As i said it's a well done game, if you like the genre you will appreciate it. I wouldn't worry about the IAP side, it plays like a premium game to me with just IAP to speed up things or making things easier. aconfusedkender and L.Lawliet like this.
